Father (shown) is fixing his daughter's computer and upgrading it and such. While he is upgrading it he opens up her Facebook and sees a message that was private and only viewable by her friends and not her parents. Dad is enraged at the message and prints it out and shows it to his wife and after reading the message to the public and grounding his daughter he proceeds to put 6-7 hollowpoint bullets into her daughter's laptop.

It was pretty boss status

1. Dad is probably being super-strict with her and is quite possibly a jackwagon lots of the time.
2. Kid has been warned about stunts like this based on prior asshattery.
3. Kid hid her status rant from everyone but the family dog... and Dad controls that account. Saw it innocently when updating the dog's status.
4. Dad maybe could have spared the laptop, but acted well within his rights considering the promised consequence after the first offense.

Clap Well played, Dad.

Okay, I had to watch it. It was worth it. That was awesome. laugh out loud

If I had done something like that as a kid, I don't think I ever would have seen the light of day again. EEK!

I am kind of on the fence with this one! I am not sure whether to praise the dad for actually going through it or feeling bad for the daughter because her privacy was violated. The message was intended to be only for her friends because she was clearly having a bad day and wanted to let out some steam (who hasn't gotten into a long rant about how "bad" or "unfair" their parents were at her age?).

Anyways I thought it was pretty cool and funny. I would hate to be on the receiving end of that though lol.

The dad was way to strict, it sounds like. And his actions reinforce that. I wouldn't blame the kid with being frustrated. And her rant wasn't no where near bad enough, let alone enough to shoot a laptop.

True, every kid at some point probably rants about their parents for some reason or another at some time, but it's DIFFERENT when it's in print, and for the world to see.

It would be like posting what she did on FB in the school newspaper. It's public, it's hurtful, and if you were the parent and your kid did that, I'd imagine you'd be mortified too.

So really, he's just giving her a taste of how he felt when he found the post. I'd say it's totally justified.

It's one thing to say it when you're steamed to a friend or something, but it's entirely different when you put it out there for everyone, in writing nonetheless.

She has to do chores, every kid should! If they have a maid, I highly doubt she's being over-worked. Come on! laugh out loud How many kids have the luxury of an actual maid?

Her rant was pretty awful. I'd be incredibly hurt if my kid did something like that. She sounded like a spoiled, whiny little witch.

The daughter my have blocked her parents from seeing the post. But not all kids understand who else is able to see their page, aunts, grandparents, family friends etc?

I have a niece (high school age) who put up party pics thinking she blocked family members. But she forgot about family friends and church members.

This is also a lesson that public forums are just that-Public. If it's a private message between friends, then she should have just emailed her rant to them.
I agree. It's a lesson most people learn the hard way. Some people lose their job over stuff like that because they forget just how public it is.
