List what you're packin', and/or what you're looking forward to packin'.
  • Remington 870 Express Magnum 20ga
  • Springfield XD Sub–Compact 9mm

And I'm thinking about buying/building an AR–15. Big Grin Whee

I fired both the CW40 and the CW9 and hated both of them!!! I fired a bunch of XD and XDM models today and felt very comfrotable with them. Looks like I will get a Springfield compact for my carry weapon. Just have to wait a few weeks before my license is mailed to me.

I could see that, the xd and cw series are completely different..
The CW is a single stack super thin carry gun, and the XD is a full size double stack pistol.

One is much more comfortable to carry, the other much more comfortable to shoot.

Sweet! It'll be super fun, cheap, and slick to shoot. I love my Ruger 10/22; just got a scope mounted on it Sunday! Whee

How much? I've been thinking about picking up a .380 to pocket carry after I get my CCW license. I've practiced carrying my XD Sub around the house, and I'm not sure if I'll want to carry it full time or not.

It was $300. That's maybe a little high, but they are a little bit hard to find. It's slightly bigger brother, the regular Bersa Thunder .380 is a bit cheaper than the Concealed Carry (smaller & more rounded). Neither are tiny like some of the really small .380s.

Why'd you get it over the Ruger LCP?

It's bigger than the Ruger and it's primarily for the bride. I don't think she'd find much pleasure in shooting one of the real tiny 380s. I think the Bersa CC is an 8+1 vs. the 6+1 for the Ruger, so the grip is obviously larger. Plus, I personally like the thumb safety and decocker vs. the DAO Ruger.

got my first pistol last week: Glock 26. mainly for C&C everywhere, but specifically for the wife when she's out on photo shoots in semi-sketchy areas and i'm not able to go with her. picked up some Gold Dot 124g +P rounds to use while carrying and trying to get into the habit of taking it everywhere (keeping it in the car until we get our permits).

put 50 rounds of range ammo through it this weekend, and we both grouped ~80% in a 5in circle at ~20 feet, though we both had a couple that were way off. not winning any shooting competitions at this point, but we were both very pleased with the action/recoil level. i'm pleased that she's much more comfortable with it after actually shooting it. after this, i'll probably be getting a 19 somewhat soon, not sure if Gen3 or Gen4.

had one or two rounds come straight back, but hoping that will go away with use, and the +2 pinky grip mag combined with the cheap ammo probably didn't help.

I do believe that is the nicest-looking Bersa I think I've ever seen. The color scheme reminds me somewhat of my trusty P-89, as does the decocker.

Looks heavy for its size though.

That's why I bought it. It's a toy. Plus, I have somehow amassed about 1000 rounds of .22wmr, though I've never owned a .22 Magnum of any sort, nor have I ever bought any .22wmr. They just show up. Dontknow

The interchangeable cylinders will be nice so I can finally get rid of those magnums properly, while allowing me to shoot the Colibris and sub-sonics out in the back yard any day of the year. Big Grin

I think the original Bersa Thunder .380 is a licensed copy of the Walther PPK (aka James Bond's gun)

The weight of the Bersa Concealed Carry is 16.4oz (per Bersa). The Ruger LCP is 9.9 oz.

Did you look at the Ruger LC9? It's about the same size, but much lighter, as the Bersa and it's 9mm.
The LC9 doesn't have a decocker but does have a safety & 7+1 capacity.

This is the Bersa I have. With the gold trim, I call it my "pimp gun".

I picked up one of those .22s a couple years ago as a Black Friday deal at Gander Mountain. Sadly, I've yet to fire it. Frown I've developed a bad habit of buying guns but not having time to actually shoot them.

It is similar, but not a copy. I was shopping for the Walther, because I wanted a James Bond gun, but wound up buying the Bersa. The Bersa looked so similar, but is a bit lighter weight, and every dealer I talked to said the Bersa was much more reliable than the Walther, they'd never sent a Bersa back for repair. Plus the Bersa was half the price of the Walther.
