laugh out loud i didn't know what ur budget was for gifts!
their codes differ all the time. glad that shipping is $6! makes it easier to stomach - if you buy more than $12 worth then the 50% code is better! tho usually the codes are only on some items, i.e. only on mineral, or only on studio, etc. it's been awhile since ive ordered so i'm not sure what codes are out now but they change almost daily!

i may have to try these love jeans. i loved the low5 bootcut. my favorite vs jean cut (followed by the pencil jean). tho lately it's been hit or miss.
Its not about budget laugh out loud its about them knowing how much i spend on their gift Stick Out Tongue

I hope it all worked out. Comfort

We haven't had a real family vaca in a long time either. The last time was 4 years ago I think. We are way over due. My brother is coming in the fall so we'll all go to Universal together for a few days, I think that is our next family vacation.

Neither does mine. :no : He hates trying things on in the store, he hates to shop online, he hates figuring out where to shop. He usually says "I need a pair of jeans where should I go?" I wish he'd just leave it up to me. But he is awesome about shopping for me. He'll wait patiently while I try on a million things. :lmao :
Universal is a great relaxing vacation.

My DH doesn't do any clothes shopping. I order everything & he wears what I pick out. He's always worn whatever I put out for him to wear. The only time he goes in the mall or clothing store w/o me is when I send him for something specific like to make a return or pick up a shipped to store order. He'll go to buy something for me, if I give him exact details to give to a CS agent to get it for him. He is horrible to try stuff on for though. He always says for me to keep everything. I can't get him to understand that's really not any help at all. Rolleyes

Quote from Tizzylicious :
No I'm not elite. : ( I don't shop there enough. I guess I don't need that one. Maybe I'll wait and get it for DD for her birthday. It's something she can do and not burn herself. Then I can borrow it. :teehee :
Good plan. Coverlaugh

I agree! hahaha... don't know about the flat tire though ; )
I'm very energetic early in the morning and evening, but in the mid-afternoon I hit a huge slump, which even coffee can't fix.

I'm forcing myself to power through it though b/c I will be working full time soon and I'm pretty sure the real world frowns upon napping on the job. :lol :

You don't have to go super hard! I think just getting around and walking/jogging (whatever you are doing) is already world's better from not having any physical activity at all.
I wish I was a morning person. I always envy those of you who are. It's usually 7:00 pm, before I get going good.

Yeah, the real world isn't always fun. laugh out loud

Quote from annicus :
you lived in fiji?? : omg: that is really really cool! how did that happen?

it is one of the few places where a lot of resorts are actually on their own private island. it is also where tom hanks' castaway was filmed (there is now a castaway resort that is on a private island - i assume it is the island where it was filmed). there are over 300 islands that make up fiji - many of them are so small only 1 or 2 resorts will fit anyway. the groupon is actually for a resort on a private island. i guess it's one of the things going for fiji - the privacy. in fact, i think i'm all for it except for those icky scary spiders. i've read that they will spray/etc at all the fancier resorts so you shouldn't have problems, but still...

i hadn't really considered the carribean, bc to me that's a vacation not a honeymoon. idk, it's so close - i want to go somewhere faaaar bc i'm not sure i'll ever take the time off to do that again.

bali is a popular spot for people who want culture mixed in with beaches/etc. i didn't know that until i started googling and reading in travel forums. i would love to go to bali someday. i'm still considering bali and maybe a few days on a thai white sand beach. :dontknow : it's so hard - i want to go everywhere! :lol :
I must not have copied your other post. The problem with once-in-a-lifetime vacations is it makes your other vacations seem less special. You always look for a better experience. My DH & I really want to take a world cruise to all 7 Continents. We've decided to wait for our 50th anniversary. By then, we'll be too old to worry about outdoing it on the next trip. Stick Out Tongue You may be different from me though. I've been on a few once-in-a-lifetime trips already. At least, that's what I convinced my DH they were at the time. laugh out loud

Speaking of cruises, if I had a month off, I'd take an abbreviated world cruise. Have you even considered that, or is your fiance against being on the water so long?

Quote from leftie :
I am :pray : for a swim promo.
If there is one, I hope I don't find out about it. EEK! I've already spent too much on swim wear this year.

IME, once I get those return confirmation emails, my credit shows up within 2-3 days on my Angels account.

We're a talkative bunch. : gossip:
Thanks Smilie I hope it will be in the tomorrow, so I won't feel as bad about placing more orders. Teehee

Girls - there is a girl at work who has her desk out in a common area right across from the door to my office. She is new and seems nice enough, but OMG. She talks to herself ALL DAY. LOUDLY and now she is talking to anyone who will listen as they walk by about all of her drama and problems. Now she is on the phone all the time loudly talking about all of her personal stuff.

Not trying to be a bitch, but what ever happened to anyone keeping things private or respecting their workplace and stepping out to take an important phone call?

Don't get me wrong, I make a personal call here or there to pay a bill or make a doctors appointment, but I don't give people across the hall enough info to write a book on me.

I guess I just hate people who come to work to air their dirty laundry and problems to everyone. Not being rude, but again - I don't care and I have work to do and I wish she would SHUT UP. I now have Pandora on.

I missed your other quote, so I'll quite this. Yes, financials are definitely something to sort out before marriage. He says that I do so much shopping that I return more in a month than he has in the last 6 months!! I think when we're closer in distance, we can hit a happy medium and I'm still planning to sway him with my view of financials. I don't believe in having. Debt like car payments and pay for it all in cash, but he doesn't believe it's possible and rathe have car payments to make. Sigh.

hmmm i never thought of it like that, having to do bigger and better, but i think i will be okay with remembering my honeymoon as the time we splurged.

we went on 1 cruise once (our first for both of us) and i don't think either of us enjoyed it that much. i don't think we'd want to do a cruise around the world. (one of the reasons is we both get pretty seasick - i think i'm actually worse! EEK!) if i'm around water i want to be IN it, not hovering over it! laugh out loud Ermm i won't have a month off anyway. i'll probably take 2 or 3 weeks off total, but that includes preparations before the wedding.

i don't get it. isn't it better to return more bc you get your money back? i mean, my dbf doesn't understand returning stuff, but he doesn't get on my case for it bc he knows it's one of my ways of saving.

btw i got shot down in adding the tote to my order yesterday. Sadwalk i should have just waited!! grrrr. i guess i can reorder with the tote and return that other order. so annoying, stupid vs.

And for me, what makes it even seem like it's even a tad more impossible is that the fact that friends that are my age - mid 20s have lavish weddings, taking crazy vacations every few months, and are buying houses like money is just rolling out of their pockets.
Exactly, exactly, exactly. I try not to be envious of other people (I'm 26 and BF is 29), but when friends our age have been out of school for years and have careers--so they can plop 20% down on a house, get a new car, etc.--and BF and I are still "stuck" in limbo, it's such a downer. A couple of our friends got a foreclosed house for next to nothing, just booked a trip to Egypt, and might re-visit a private island where they took their honeymoon because it's on Groupon. I'm like, "Really?!" I haven't been on a vacation in forever.

It's not for lack of trying--if I had done things differently, school-wise, I would have a career already, too, with an actual salary rather than a sack of beans every two weeks for teaching at a grad student rate. I got a Master's in 2010 (in professional writing) so I do a lot of freelance editing on the side... it helps, but I realized I don't want to "just" be an editor for the rest of my life. So I started a PhD program in psychology, decided the branch I had chosen wasn't for me, and transferred to a Master's program in Couple/Family Therapy instead.

I'm really happy now, but I kick myself that it took me so long to figure everything out. I feel so far behind everyone else. I keep telling myself that I need to go to work every day for the rest of my life and really enjoy it--which I will--but it doesn't do much to make me feel better in the moment. laugh out loud

FWIW, BF used to be disastrous with his finances. My parents and I taught him how to budget and spend wisely, and now he's done a total 180 and is so much better about everything. So there is hope! And honestly, I kind of feel that if you're never "taught" how to manage money, it's tough to figure out on your own. There should be a "Real Life Finances 101" class in high school or freshman year of college to clue kids in and keep them from screwing up. nod

Quote from CrazyCatJade :
Awww = hug to both of you!

I think a big part of the frustration is doing it the "right" way. Me and DH have two vehicles that are both paid off. We would like a new car, but we don't need one, so we keep what we have. I drive a 2007 manual transmission Corolla. I would LOVE more room and not to have to fark with a clutch while stuck in traffic all the time, but the car is great, reliable, and paid off. We want to pay off our medical bills and get a house. We could go buy a house now, but without 20% down we'll be pissing away money on PMI. We could pay off the medical bills but we'd have no emergency cash left. We could take lavish vacations, but we'd be broke and have debt.

I think we are a bit smarter than most people our age. DH and I are trying to do things with no debt or limited debt. So many people our age feel like they have to keep up with all of their friends and others and honestly - who wouldn't love to be able to afford all that stuff without a thought? Just think that later in life, all of our deal hunting will pay off because we will be in SO MUCH better shape than others Smilie

At least, I tell myself all of this so I feel better laugh out loud

I'm 27 and DH will be 29 in July FWIW...
I try not to think of the fact that our rent payment is essentially the equivalent of what a monthly mortgage payment would be, because we don't have a full 20% to put down now. I can't wait until BF gets a teaching job and I can start a career, too, so we can work off two incomes. We save as much as we possibly can, and we're both really frugal, but it's hard when I make next to nothing and he's sort of in limbo since he just graduated.

Really, I wish money wasn't so important. It just stresses me out.

Quote from GoHeels :

At least, you're setting yourself up well for the future. That's really important.
Smilie Thanks. I try to remind myself of that. BF and I probably won't end up having kids--if we do, we'll adopt--so once we have a steady income, we'll just be taking care of things for us (and our pets). I know we'll get there... I just feel like it's taking SO long.

That's my dream actually. I really want to get that implemented, or once I'm done with my finance Ph.D., I want to give seminars to high school students. I just saw a seminar on financial literacy, and it's amazing how many people don't know things like compound interest.

I'm also 26 with 2 years left. We'll make it!

You sound really happy, though. In the grand scheme of things, two years isn't that much longer if you get to spend the rest of your life doing something that makes you happy. Be glad you found it at all. Some people never do.
