When talking about what house to rent, bride declared 1 to be her absolute favorite and pushed us to book it immediately. We start talking budget and sister sends an email stating she can only afford $250, though the house they want requires $350 pp if everyone shows up and $500+ if it's just BM's paying. We say "OK, can't afford this one, lets look at the others" and then sister says "Oh, what if I raised the amount?". In talks with the other BM's, turns out bride and sister thought that the youngest should not have to pay as much as the older people in the group and that we would kick in the rest. FaintDude, we're not even her friends, we're the groom's friends! Nono2As it turns out, even the girl she went to HS with would not categorize herself as a "very good friend". You'd think that would curb a bride's expectation of her bridesmaids Scratchhead

Review:
Shimmery Wireless Push-Up Bra Top [victoriassecret.com] : Looks just like the picture, only with a little more cleavage. I'd say $30 is worth it since it feels so well made and the "push-up" part feels more like heavy padding. This puppy is coming to Maui with me, we leave tomorrow morning Big Grin Surf

We left the shoe subject and moved to putting together the bachelorette party. That was refreshing until the bride refused to back out of the planning EEK! We're renting a house on a lake and she was scrutinizing the carpet Facepalm , looked at our booze list and was vetoing things from it that she didn't like. (Yo, you can drink your carbonated piss, but we have to plan for the guests.) I tried to get her to back out of the planning process b/c at least part of it is supposed to be a surprise right? She got to choose where, and what... now we're just hammering out details but bride's sister insists she doesn't want any surprises. I told them to plan it themselves and let us know when to show up, but they don't want that either. Now they've got a full-scale bridesmaid mutiny on their hands with all of us thinking about backing out.
Why does this have to be so hard? Head Bang

I was wondering if she'd expect you guys to plan and pay for a bachelorette party since she seems to have picked everyone based on acquaintance and hair color instead of friendship. >_> Doesn't she feel embarrassed? She sounds entitled as F***!

One of my friends on FB has been doing a juice fast for 9 days and has lost ~14 lbs. She began by drinking Odwalla and other organic "smoothie"-type beverages, then borrowed someone's juicer and has been making her own out of fruits and vegetables.

I'm kind of interested because the drinks she's blending look delicious, but the drastic reduction in calories worries me and makes me wonder if it's totally healthy/more trouble than it's worth. I'd also be nervous about headaches. But has anyone done a juice fast like this? Is it a waste of time at the end of it?
I have not but, 2 of my friends and their mother tried it. 1 got sick right away and had to stop, the other said that she got too hungry and stopped pretty quickly, and their mother did it for the longest (nearly all of lent) and haaaaaaaaaaaaated it. She eventually got so sick of juices that she would sometimes skip meals instead of juicing. She stopped sooner than she had intended as well. The mom did lose weight, the other 2 did not. They all said that they didn't feel well on the diet, light headed, hungry all the time, that kinda thing.

Scratchchin I think she's probably one of the most clueless people I have ever met... She had no idea why were upset. I sent her an email explaining in excruciating detail, nothing catty, just facts. She tried to tell me that hair color stuff was all a joke, except no one laughed and she repeated the same sentiment to the other BM's. I would rather she said "I didn't know I was coming off that way" than try to pretend it was supposed to be funny. She put me in such a mood- now I'm all cranky like Homie D Clown... ds knows i really am not paying attention sometimes and just says yes to what he's saying.

he asked is it 36 hrs in 1 day? i said yes. he laughed. good thing he did it to test me, not to make a mental note. i should really pay attention, otherwise i might teach him wrong facts!

i haven't placed an order at folica EEK!

Thanks hug Best thing to come out of this is that I am becoming good friends with the groom's co-worker BM. She's the one making this bearable. In fact, we are birthday twins and have already planned to do a river booze float together for our birthdays Big Grin

all 4 palettes:
naked 2 on the left, then shady lady 2, stila in the light, naked 1.

swatched:
top: naked 1. bottom: stila in the light.
it does seem like they were made to be very similar to each other. the stila palette to me seems a bit more red. it's a good comprehensive palette between naked 1 and naked 2.

naked 2 swatched:
very top sparse swatches - shady lady 2 shades that looked similar to naked 2.
round swatches - naked 2.
bottom longer swatches - naked 1.

3 guitars and he doesn't play? LMAO Damn. My DH has 2 hobbies- guitar and photography. They're expensive, but luckily at some point- the equipment gets redundant so he stops being so interested if they've only changed 1 feature b/w new & old models. I'm proud to say I have raised his standards for purchases .

Sorry about the boy bias in your family. My mom was told she should go to college to find her a husband. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I see how logistically it makes sense if you plan on turning yourself into a breeding factory, but welcome to the 21st century Dad! That's not the only option for your daughter. She can stand on her own because you raised her right, it's a compliment on his skills as a father. He needs to raise his expectations of how he thinks he did Big Grin You can work AND breed. Lots of people do it, most I think.

Anyway you two would consider living together before the wedding? DH and I bought our condo while we were engaged. When living together, we set up a joint account at ING ( we also have separate accounts there that we can fund the joint account with). I showed DH how much money I had saved up which dwarfed his. I was a freaking grad student and the 20% down all came from ME. Crazy! ha. I think that changed his perspective too. Live together, create a shared bank account you pay the rent with... maybe opens to door to more finance talk and looking at each others' numbers.

Yeah, I made 1/5 of what my fiancee made and it was awkward at first. We started out by creating a joint bank account at ING for wedding expenses. I contributed 20% and he contributed 80%... that's how we still do it; He pays the mortgage, I pay HOA and utilities. Now that we have rent too- I pay it but he transfers money to my account every month Wink I was paranoid about it, but DH didn't give it any thought- it's just simply "our money". Give it time, salary discrepancy is really only an issue if you both make it one.
His justification for having his 3 guitars and not knowing how to play them is that he got video games to teach him where he can hook up the guitar to the console and learn shake head We just had a long conversation about all the games he wants to get me in the future shake head and how I'd rather him save his money.

I'm not really sure about the living situation in the future just because of my pets. Hopefully we can have something set up together, kind of like what you're talking about and I think I'm just going to put what I would spend away just for our future. Hoping he'll take the lead. But it sounds like I would be doing something similar to you, saving up as much as I could and show him and ground him.

Enjoy your vacation, get away from Bridezilla and thanks for your wise words!

I had a friend that did this and she said it messed up her digestive system. She just said the best thing she should've done was just eat healthier and drank water instead of any of these fad things.

Don't get me wrong, I looove Odwalla and Naked, they're so good, but not as the sole food for my day.
