anyone know how baby shoe sizes work? Benjamin is on his way to walking and not sure if there is a good way to measure feet? Or if there is a brand anyone would recommend? TIA!
try to get your baby to place weight on his feet while you prop him up. feet expand when you stand up and walk (compared to just sitting and trying them on). at least that way you can get a better fit for him.

I HATE HATE HATE the incredible. I love the comfort and the fit but the straps stretch out SO fast and I found mine literally fell apart. the finishing on the edges peeled apart and it was horrible. First bra I have loved and then been terribly disappointed in.

On another note. I just ordered $250 worth of stuff. I am not planning on all of it fitting, but seriously I spend too much money laugh out loud
what did you order?

I haven't tried any of the Incredible bras, but I'll order one to try. Thanks for the suggestion.

sorry dear! i read it but must have been too busy at the time to reply.

for me, i went with the one that's closer in shade to me, which was the darker one. but had the lighter been closer i would have chosen that one. i'd say the 2 is probably about 2 shades lighter than me while the 3 is 1 shade darker - i am pretty light for me right now, so i'm sure i'll get darker when i get in some time by the pool.

the color match is one of the main problems of double wear light i think. a lot of people are in between colors. if you think the 1 is only a shade lighter, i'd stick with that one and maybe use some bronzer or mix in a darker shade foundation to get your color match.

are there any other foundations that match you really well? i don't know your coloring, but i have a feeling the difference between 1 and 2 is really big. in terms of mac the 2 is probably nc25-nc30. : (

thanks hon!
Thanks for the info & tips. I've never been matched to Mac, so I don't know what shade I am. I'm going to try the 1.0 again in a little while to see how it looks with powder. I didn't do my entire face yesterday. The fact that it's already light & summer is coming up is also a concern. Surely, I'll get some sun this summer. laugh out loud

It is common for wedding parties to take pictures after the ceremony at the marriage venue or another location. It has happened at every wedding I have ever attended.
It used to be more common at weddings I've attended than it is now. More people are taking the bulk of pictures, before the ceremony. Unfortunately, I've been to weddings in the past where many of the guests left, because they were tired of waiting on the bride & groom to show up. IMO, it's best to avoid a lengthy wait, if possible. Spending 15 to 20 mins. taking pics, while the guests have hors d'oeuvres is perfectly fine. Most people expect that. Going to a separate location &/or taking all the pictures between the wedding & reception will result in a lot of angry guests. No one wants to sit around bored waiting for the bride & groom to grace them with their presence. I realize it's their day, but they also need to be respectful of those who cared enough to be there & celebrate their marriage. Obviously it JMO, but I think it's best for everyone, if the bulk of the pictures are taken before the ceremony &/or after the guests are eating & the cake is cut. Those are the times, when only the wedding party would be impacted by the pictures.

Does she realize everyone may not be looking their best after the reception, especially the little ones & the drinkers? If she's planning to go to the park between the wedding & reception, she will have some very ticked off guests. People don't like to wait a long time for the bride & groom to show up. Just some thoughts for her to consider. Smilie
Pictures will happen after the wedding, but before the reception. I think that she wants to rent a limo and then go bar hoppin after pictures but before the reception. I asked her how I was supposed to get back to my car after the reception, since the car would still be at the church. She didn't have an answer to that.

She want to have a bigger and better wedding then all of her friends. She won't even think about having the reception at a place that one of her friends already had it at.

She want's one of those photo booths at her wedding. But it has to be an actually photo booth, not one built with curtains.

She also wants us to go to Vegas for the bachelorette party. That would be fun, but I have to figure out what to do with my 2 dd's if it's during the school week. unfortunately I don't trust my ex to get them to school.

A dream angels demi, biofit demi, VS demi, a couple of the cotton lingerie bras, some fleece supermodel pants, a couple more PINK essential V Neck tees (they released new colors this week), a cardigan, and a couple of button down poplin shirts. It came to right around $250, but I ended up placing 2 orders. Nothing fits since I have had my daughter so I needed some new stuff. I'm losing weight, but instead of doing it fast I'm losing about 2 - 3 pounds per week. I have a lot to lose, I was a 12 when I got pregnant because I had just quit smoking. I gained 15 pounds when I quit smoking and then 40 with my pregnancy!

I delivered my daughter 10 months after my wedding to the day. On my delivery date I weighed 55 pounds more than I did on my wedding EEK! 20 pounds to go to get back there, but I want to lose 45 more total. *sigh* I'm restricting calories pretty well but I need to find some time to work out. I'm just tired!

Sorry, laugh out loud I know you didn't ask for a reason, just what I bought LOL.

My sister is driving me crazy! She is getting married in December, and really didn't start planning the wedding till last month. She still doesn't have a reception hall booked. She is having us buy matching petticoats and then wants us to go to the park after the wedding to get pictures done. This is December in Wisconsin! We will freeze to death!
Funny enough, I have actually done exactly that nod . My aunt was married in Wisconsin in late November and we took pictures at a park outside. Maybe this information will help your cause: everything that's beautiful at that park right now, will be dead come December. All the gardens look black in the pictures and the trees have no leaves. Additionally, it took FOREVER for everyone to gather their things and get to the park - we all had our winter coats on and then would toss them on a bench. This process took forever and the photos didn't look good. Really, they could take care of bridal party pictures at the ceremony site and then run off to the park by themselves and spend oodles of time there getting the perfect newly wed shots. There's no need to drag everyone with- it wastes time that could be spent getting their own couples pictures - like some artsy bride/groom shots with the tree silhouettes or architecture in the garden. .

Bar-hopping between ceremony & reception + pictures? That's crazy talk. Throw a bottle of booze in the limo and call it a day. If you can convince her to get a coordinator/wedding planner (not just for day -of).... you wouldn't have to be the one to talk sense into her. Also, planning the "biggest wedding" so late in the game she could really use someone that knows 50 venues off the top of their head that she hadn't thought of.

Hahahah - I just realized a habit I didn't know I had. Whenever I spend a lot of money on me, I buy my husband something.

I just ordered him a travel humidor for his cigars in case he goes offshore for work soon. It's waterproof!

I have heard of couples taking engagement type pictures before their wedding (not in the tux & gown). The pictures taken on the wedding day before the ceremony were the "getting ready" photos. If there is only one photographer, there are no pictures of the groom if they get ready at different venues. No pictures at the ceremony venue before the ceremony because they do not want the groom or guests to see the bride. After the bridal party walks out and do whatever they do (my girlfriend let doves loose), all the guests went to the reception. The bridal party stayed and took pictures inside and outside the church before making their way to the reception. It took a lot longer than 20 minutes. And there was a long wait before the intoduction of the bridal party. Every damn wedding. I am sure some people get irriated, but it is not their day. And since it happens at every wedding, I think guests expect it.

Wow, I hope she has some guests left, when she gets to the reception. My DH & I could sit there all day. I don't know too many people who are patient enough to wait that long though. Maybe, the weddings are different there than at the weddings I've been to. Is it a situation where everyone leaves the wedding, then goes to the reception venue a few hours later? I'm just trying to comprehend having time to take all those pics & bar hop before the reception. If there's a couple hours gap between the two, it would make sense. The weddings I've been to had the reception immediately following the wedding.

I actually think the photo booth is a really cute idea. I hope everyone participates & she gets a lot of pics. At most weddings, people won't even use the cameras on the tables. Why do they think they're there? Stick Out Tongue I try to remind people to use them, if the wedding is for someone in my family.

Don't beat yourself up too bad. I've known women who started smoking again, because of the weight gain. You're not the only one to gain weight, after stopping smoking. It's great that you didn't go back to it. Everyone gains weight, when they're pregnant too. You just happened to do both at the same time. In your case, gaining weight is to be expected. Don't let it get to you. hug

You know, as long as I am in the process of doing something about it - I feel good. Like, as long as I am counting calories and walking when I can, I don't hate myself. I'm seeing progress and I KNOW I am heavier because I just had a baby and quit smoking. I hate being bigger than I am used to - but I am loving having my daughter. Plus, I have the perfect husband for me - he still finds me attractive and makes me feel good about myself and that helps immensely.

Every day it is a conscious decision to not smoke. It's been 14 months since I quit and I will never start again. There is temptation all the time, but when I think about all the money I spent and how gross it smelled and how trashy I think it looks now, it makes me more determined to never pick up a cigarette again. It is SO hard though. Even now. (Nothing against anyone in here who may smoke. I TRULY know how hard it is to quit. I don't want to offend anyone.)

I'm focusing on buying clothes that fit a wide variety of weights. Button down shirts work well for me for a wide range, the essential t's and fleece pants are wonderful. I'm not buying much at a time but I also do need to have some stuff. I know you can relate to not having items to wear as you lose weight. I'm looking forward to the huge shopping spree when I hit my goal!

I'm sure your DH will hate me for suggesting this, but could you ask him to stop by a dept store that has EL (i.e. belk where you got your kit) and get you a sample of the 2.0? that way you could compare side by side without actually having to buy the 2.0. or else, maybe you should get the 2, if you think you will get darker in the summer. what foundation colors are you in other brands? it doesn't have to be mac - i'm not great with my mac color either but so many ppl use it as a point of reference that i hear it thrown around more often.

also, i think it's perfectly fine for the bride and groom to be gone an hour after the ceremony. that is when cocktail hour goes on, and i don't think i've ever seen the bride & groom during cocktail hour. (of course, this would be different if it were not a late ceremony that's followed by a dinner reception) no one misses them then.

imo, photos are beautiful when there's snow on the ground and in the trees. if it's at a time of year before snow falls, then i don't see the point, because as porda said everything will be dead by then since it's winter. the beauty of winter in wisconsin imo is the abundance of snow. however, i think it's silly for them to drag you guys around. like porda said, they should just do the wedding party photos at the church or at the reception area. they can go off to the park by themselves for their newlywed photos.

i understand the need for a real booth and not one with curtains. i had this request also - there are some that just look flimsy and i think it would deter people from wanting to take photos. i think the best part of the booth is the privacy - people will tend to make more funny faces and such if they are enclosed in a booth.

Iagree get some alcohol for the limo. there's no time to go bar hopping! i don't know what time your church appointment is tho - i find the weddings that happen in a church tend to have a longer gap between the ceremony and reception. if this is the case, then you guys will have a lot of time to get all those photos in - but going to bars is really a dumb idea imho! hopefully she will reconsider.

also i think it's perfectly normal to not want to use the same reception hall as a close friend. i wouldn't want to do that either, especially if there will be guests who will have gone to the other wedding. i don't think all of your sister's requests/wants are unreasonable - but some of them definitely are out there!

You just had a baby. It took me 6 months to get back down to my normal weight and I still felt flabby because I wasn't toned. Just a day at a time like you're doing is best!

Apparently a size 00 will still get you called fat around this place shake head.
