On another note. I just ordered $250 worth of stuff. I am not planning on all of it fitting, but seriously I spend too much money
for me, i went with the one that's closer in shade to me, which was the darker one. but had the lighter been closer i would have chosen that one. i'd say the 2 is probably about 2 shades lighter than me while the 3 is 1 shade darker - i am pretty light for me right now, so i'm sure i'll get darker when i get in some time by the pool.
the color match is one of the main problems of double wear light i think. a lot of people are in between colors. if you think the 1 is only a shade lighter, i'd stick with that one and maybe use some bronzer or mix in a darker shade foundation to get your color match.
are there any other foundations that match you really well? i don't know your coloring, but i have a feeling the difference between 1 and 2 is really big. in terms of mac the 2 is probably nc25-nc30. : (
thanks hon!
Does she realize everyone may not be looking their best after the reception, especially the little ones & the drinkers? If she's planning to go to the park between the wedding & reception, she will have some very ticked off guests. People don't like to wait a long time for the bride & groom to show up. Just some thoughts for her to consider.
She want to have a bigger and better wedding then all of her friends. She won't even think about having the reception at a place that one of her friends already had it at.
She want's one of those photo booths at her wedding. But it has to be an actually photo booth, not one built with curtains.
She also wants us to go to Vegas for the bachelorette party. That would be fun, but I have to figure out what to do with my 2 dd's if it's during the school week. unfortunately I don't trust my ex to get them to school.
I delivered my daughter 10 months after my wedding to the day. On my delivery date I weighed 55 pounds more than I did on my wedding
Sorry,
*snip*
So yeah. Not cutting calories there lol!
My sister is driving me crazy! She is getting married in December, and really didn't start planning the wedding till last month. She still doesn't have a reception hall booked. She is having us buy matching petticoats and then wants us to go to the park after the wedding to get pictures done. This is December in Wisconsin! We will freeze to death!

Bar-hopping between ceremony & reception + pictures? That's crazy talk. Throw a bottle of booze in the limo and call it a day. If you can convince her to get a coordinator/wedding planner (not just for day -of).... you wouldn't have to be the one to talk sense into her. Also, planning the "biggest wedding" so late in the game she could really use someone that knows 50 venues off the top of their head that she hadn't thought of.

I just ordered him a travel humidor for his cigars in case he goes offshore for work soon. It's waterproof!

I actually think the photo booth is a really cute idea. I hope everyone participates & she gets a lot of pics. At most weddings, people won't even use the cameras on the tables. Why do they think they're there?
I delivered my daughter 10 months after my wedding to the day. On my delivery date I weighed 55 pounds more than I did on my wedding : eek: 20 pounds to go to get back there, but I want to lose 45 more total. *sigh* I'm restricting calories pretty well but I need to find some time to work out. I'm just tired!
Sorry, :lol : I know you didn't ask for a reason, just what I bought LOL.
I brought my lunch :drool : There is a healthy choice mushroom marsala with 250 calories and it is SO good. I love it!

Don't beat yourself up too bad. I've known women who started smoking again, because of the weight gain. You're not the only one to gain weight, after stopping smoking. It's great that you didn't go back to it. Everyone gains weight, when they're pregnant too. You just happened to do both at the same time. In your case, gaining weight is to be expected. Don't let it get to you.
You know, as long as I am in the process of doing something about it - I feel good. Like, as long as I am counting calories and walking when I can, I don't hate myself. I'm seeing progress and I KNOW I am heavier because I just had a baby and quit smoking. I hate being bigger than I am used to - but I am loving having my daughter. Plus, I have the perfect husband for me - he still finds me attractive and makes me feel good about myself and that helps immensely.
Every day it is a conscious decision to not smoke. It's been 14 months since I quit and I will never start again. There is temptation all the time, but when I think about all the money I spent and how gross it smelled and how trashy I think it looks now, it makes me more determined to never pick up a cigarette again. It is SO hard though. Even now. (Nothing against anyone in here who may smoke. I TRULY know how hard it is to quit. I don't want to offend anyone.)
I'm focusing on buying clothes that fit a wide variety of weights. Button down shirts work well for me for a wide range, the essential t's and fleece pants are wonderful. I'm not buying much at a time but I also do need to have some stuff. I know you can relate to not having items to wear as you lose weight. I'm looking forward to the huge shopping spree when I hit my goal!
Thanks for the info & tips. I've never been matched to Mac, so I don't know what shade I am. I'm going to try the 1.0 again in a little while to see how it looks with powder. I didn't do my entire face yesterday. The fact that it's already light & summer is coming up is also a concern. Surely, I'll get some sun this summer.
It used to be more common at weddings I've attended than it is now. More people are taking the bulk of pictures, before the ceremony. Unfortunately, I've been to weddings in the past where many of the guests left, because they were tired of waiting on the bride & groom to show up. IMO, it's best to avoid a lengthy wait, if possible. Spending 15 to 20 mins. taking pics, while the guests have hors d'oeuvres is perfectly fine. Most people expect that. Going to a separate location &/or taking all the pictures between the wedding & reception will result in a lot of angry guests. No one wants to sit around bored waiting for the bride & groom to grace them with their presence. I realize it's their day, but they also need to be respectful of those who cared enough to be there & celebrate their marriage. Obviously it JMO, but I think it's best for everyone, if the bulk of the pictures are taken before the ceremony &/or after the guests are eating & the cake is cut. Those are the times, when only the wedding party would be impacted by the pictures.
also, i think it's perfectly fine for the bride and groom to be gone an hour after the ceremony. that is when cocktail hour goes on, and i don't think i've ever seen the bride & groom during cocktail hour. (of course, this would be different if it were not a late ceremony that's followed by a dinner reception) no one misses them then.

i understand the need for a real booth and not one with curtains. i had this request also - there are some that just look flimsy and i think it would deter people from wanting to take photos. i think the best part of the booth is the privacy - people will tend to make more funny faces and such if they are enclosed in a booth.

also i think it's perfectly normal to not want to use the same reception hall as a close friend. i wouldn't want to do that either, especially if there will be guests who will have gone to the other wedding. i don't think all of your sister's requests/wants are unreasonable - but some of them definitely are out there!
Apparently a size 00 will still get you called fat around this place
