I think that in your situation, it might be best to just use the regular label and pay $5.99. I think it saves a lot more hassle than having the label over 90 days old, might have to go through what nerdicus and alvs did. It's such a pain, but that's my guess.

Quote from GoHeels :
That poor woman. Kids just don't have the respect for adults that we had. I blame the schools for a lot of it. They no longer demand respect. As a matter of fact, they almost teach the opposite.
. . .
That woman is a victim of her DH & the school systems. They constantly tell kids they're equal to adults & adults can't discipline them. Adults should encourage them in everything they do. I suppose they're trying to encourage self-esteem.What they're doing is producing kids that are totally out of control.I saw a show recently where CEOs were saying they didn't want to hire kids right out of college now. They said they had always been told how great they are in school & they expected to be rewarded, if they did even the smallest task. They said it was rare to find someone right out of college these day who could accept constructive criticism.
. . .
I'm going to have to disagree on the source of the problem here. I think many of the type of problems you describe start at home and then are perpetuated by teachers that fear being harassed or even sued by over-bearing, self-righteous parents. The "parents as friends" scenario is the one I hear most often about... my parents railed against it... HARD so naturally my brothers and I have troubles with self-esteem Coverlaugh I want to say it's because so many went through schools where corporal punishment was allowed, that when they grew to raise their own children, they never wanted them to experience that and went to the extreme in the other direction.

I say this because I don't know a single teacher that coddles their pupils in the way described above. (I'm sure there are some out there). I've got a lot of teachers in my circle of family/friends (elementary - college) and not a single one leads me to believe they have the attitude or philosophy of doting on the kids and telling them how wonderful they are. Are they more lenient than they should be? Perhaps, but it's for fear of putting their job in jeopardy by having whiny students go home and tell their overreacting parents.

As for expectations on being rewarded, I think of when parents/coaches insist on giving every child a trophy even when their sports team did miserably. Avoiding the emotion of sadness and disappointment means missing the learning/growing opportunity- to their own and society's detriment. Of course the expectation that most will go on to college puts pressure on them as well to fight for accolades and awards they may not have earned.. .and some educators will give in to their demands, the system has its flaws for sure.

Not that all "participation/pity" trophies are bad, that parents are bad and that all teachers are innocent - I'm just trying to make the point that I think respect for authority starts at home. I can definitely see that you did not put that attitude in your son's head Comfort , but I'd be more inclined to think he picked that up from watching the interaction between his self-entitled peers and the teachers that feel like they have their hands tied when it comes to discipline.

On a less preachy note,( sorry!) on Express Price Adjustments - I've seen others ask this question, but don't remember if it was answered. I just called in- no the item does not need to be in-stock for a price adjustment, but it is significantly more difficult for them to find the item in their system. As an example: my order from 6/13, they could not find the scoopneck ruched dress in their system ?! This item sold out late last week and already, all the last pricing info is gone. She knew what I had bought it for and what it originally sold for, but not what the final discount was before they sold out. EEK! So just a word to the wise, be prudent about your price adjustments! The striped ruched dress was PA'd to $24 woot

Naturally, there's always two sides to every story. There could also be differences in how school districts handle their students. With our son, we would get on him for not helping out around the house, not striving to do his best in school, etc. The reply was always, "My teachers say you should be encouraging me not bringing me down." Mind you we weren't putting him down. We were merely expecting the same of him that our parents expected of us. His gf (at the time) & other friends would say similar stuff. It was most definitely coming from the high school. We didn't have this problem in elementary or middle school. I think they were trying to create an environment that made the kids feel empowered & want to stay in school. I support the effort, but there has to be a better way to accomplish that. Two of my sisters, my niece & many of my first cousins are teachers, so I have a lot of respect for most teachers. I wouldn't want the job, because it's not an easy one. The teachers & administration at my DS's high school caused us a lot of problems though. It was a battle trying to convince our DS that it didn't matter what they were telling him at school. He would obey us & respects his elders (inc. his teachers). For awhile, he was convinced there was nothing we could do about his behavior. He thought he could behave any way he wanted, & we couldn't discipline him. He learned that at school not at home.

I didn't mean to offend any teachers. You know how much I care about you girls. hug I do realize there are some parents who are big bullies & have created mini-bullies. When a lot of kids are behaving badly, there has to be a common denominator though. If the schools would take a stand & suspend problem children, the problem would eventually disappear. I agree that people are too afraid of being sued. Maybe things will change, if those who are bullied start retaliating in the media or court room. I'm glad this woman's story has gotten national media.

Scratchchin good question... I know that the striped ruched dress didn't go OOS until a few days ago when the price went down even further- so if it went down to $34.99 with 30% off, that makes $24 Dontknow If it makes you feel better, the blue v-neck mesh dress was only PA'd to $34. Oh and if anyone bought that banded dress- there was a white-purple-red and a white -grey- black one, that went to $19.99 with 30% off before it was gobbled up so be sure you PA that! OMG

Very true, could be some kind of experimental district philosophy. Sucks that you're the one having to deal with the result when you did the best you could with your own hug

Anybody know when ship25 ends? I have a dress arriving tomorrow that I'd like to try on, before ordering another color.

I remember hearing something along those lines in school...high school I think. I tried using that on my parents and they sure shut that BS down real quick. So..I pretty much dismissed crap like that from school in again.
