Having the school officials undermine the parental position is too much. It caused us & other parents unnecessary headaches.
School officials should be there to teach education and the tools necessary for fundamental education. They have failed at that and what business do they have for telling kids how to "teach" their parents?
I wonder if it'll be different in private school since parents pay the teacher's salary.
I agree with the rest of your post as well. Empowerment is good, but it's important not to get too out of hand. I hope the parents get slapped into shape as well. Maybe they should also be punished. Actually, maybe that's the way to go. If kids do something so horrible, the parents should be punished as well for not teaching their children to be respectful citizens.
I remember that UCLA girl's youtube clip. I didn't realize she dropped out. Oh well.
I think I will still go some day, but not anytime soon. Maybe it's over-fantasized by movies like Public Enemies and plays like Chicago.
Hopefully the cops clean up the mess soon. Maybe need the mob to help or something

The new thing in Chicago is that the middle school kids are all getting together in gangs of like 20-30. They are then beating people up. They beat up two doctors leaving Northwestern hospital and didn't take their money. Last summer, they beat up a tourist right in a Walgreens on Michigan Avenue.
It's pretty horrible to think about what these middleschool brats are capable of doing. I am glad society is reaching out to Karen and punishing those brats.
Glad that dress worked out for you!
