Seriously, though, they should come up with another name for it. A dog carrier carries dogs. A cat carrier carries cats. A baby carrier carries a baby.

I'm thinking about buying hubby a 55 in (or more.. depending) tv for our anniversary/fathers day.

What's cool in the world of tvs these day? I don't think he cares about 3D though since he always says they don't impress him.

I'm sick of researching. Someone give me an idea laugh out loud I don't have a set price range, but I surely don't want to spend a small fortune if it isn't necessary (especially for a tv)

LED is the new hotness, AFAIK. I'm not sure if you'll find one that isn't at least 3D Ready, though.

If you're not overly concerned with getting apps, the Samsung ES6000 55" looks to run $1,300-1,400.
The LG LS5700 looks to be decent, too (it's edge-lit LED though, not sure about the Samsung).

I had no clue you could apps on a tv.. or why you would need to?

He has a phone for that so is there anything he would need to have that ability for on a tv?

not sure what an edge lit led means LMAO I probably should read more about tv's so I know what everything means laugh out loud

Thank you, my dear hug

Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, web browser, etc, all built right into the TV itself (they'll typically have WiFi).

Edge lit doesn't look quite as nice as full LED backlighting, but is cheaper, of course.
And no worries nod

Haha, I guess I don't see the appeal of browsing the web on a giant screen. He has a roku and other junk hooked up for his netflix, youtube, whatever else so I guess I'll find out how big of a want that would be for him to have it built into the tv.

Gotcha. I know his biggest uses for the tv is hd and movies, he only does occasional gaming.

I might just have him pick one out and ruin the surprise laugh out loud

If you can score an empty TV box from someone and have him open that (and a note in it or something) that could be cool too. But I think even a ruined surprise would make him happy Big Grin
