I'm questioning whether or not I will. I certainly don't have any options that I want so I just have to ask myself what impact my decision to vote or not to vote will have on the future for my kids.

Your state is pretty much in the bag for Romney anyway, isn't it? You can kid yourself and act like voting third party sends a message, if you like. The presidential election is the biggest sham of all for most of us, with so few swing states.

VA is a purple state, but I agree about voting third party. Not that I think any vote really counts, but anyone who votes 3rd party is really throwing their vote away.

If you live in a red or blue state, voting for anyone other than the predetermined D/R is throwing your vote away too (exceptions granted in a few circumstances, Colorado can split their electoral vote, Nebraska can [but in practice will likely only ever send one blue vote from the district that contains Omaha]).
I don't think I'm likely to vote this time around... although I could probably make some money betting against every single candidate I vote for, the way things seem to turn out, no matter which party they belong to.

Iagree But VA swings red some years and blue other years. I think it has to do with how many troops are deployed and don't get their votes counted. laugh out loud
