A crazy end to a very interesting season. Of all the races to be crazy, this was probably the best one for it to happen to. With the number of newbie fans who only got interested and watched F1 for the first time because of the new track in Austin, I'm sure this race got them even more interested/hooked.

I'm really interested in how Lewis will get along at Mercedes. It would be rather funny if McLaren got the bugs and reliability issues fixed on the car and won the championship next year.

The most radical ever' F1 car goes on sale: Tyrrell's iconic Seventies six-wheeled racer on the market for £750k

  • 1976 car was fitted with four front wheels for better grip and aerodynamics
  • In two seasons it picked up 14 podium places and one victory for Tyrell
  • Model on sale was raced by French driver Patrick Depailler

Wasn't there a 6-wheeled F1 car during the historic F1 race at COTA a couple weeks ago?

"The Williams F1 Team is pleased to announce that Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas will be the team's race drivers for the 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship season." read a team statement.

The 23-year-old Bottas is highly rated by team boss Frank Williams and seen as the ideal man to team up with Maldonado who impressed this season and won his first GP in Spain in May.

Bottas has primarily been used as a test driver since 2010 but impressed on several weekends this season when he took part in official practice.

He was GP3 champion in 2011 and is now set to make his Formula One debut on March 17, 2013 when the season begins in Melbourne.

But was it just the Tyrell at COTA or were the other two F1 cars with six wheels there as well? All I could find were mentions of the Tyrell at COTA, thus the Dontknow smilie.

Doh N/M, just re-read Landers original question. For some reason I thought he had asked if all three were at COTA.

I've got all the F1 photos worth posting up flickr now. I still have some support races I'll go through, but today I got the F1 race proper up, 61 photos, including Kimi smoking his left front, above. I also have a good one of Kamui hitting the higher orange curb at turn 9, left front wheel in the air.

I always think of Max Chilton when he was on the weird races on BBC's top gear: "Max Chilton: hair styling legend" along with all the other guys like "touring car legend", etc... laugh out loud

any news on HRT? will they even race in 2013?
