RETIRED: Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Not sure I'm reading this right, but are you putting strawberries in next year where tomatoes have been??

Just read today strawberries don't grow well where tomatoes, potatoes and several others plants (can't remember the others, ohhh Jak) have been planted......should wait 3 years between
Any chance you read about snap peas? Do you have to soak the seeds before you plant them?

I planted peas and don't soak them, .....is there something different about "snap peas"?

I'm no master gardener, but mom and gram had gardens all our life and never heard of soaking the pea seeds.

I've been sooooo tempted to send them all a message asking why they don't have something better to do than follow me. Perhaps they're all shut-ins and seeing my contest entries gives them some kind of cheap thrills. I almost feel sorry for them. But seriously, I post NOTHING but contest stuff. I've never sent a personal tweet in my life. The same thing with facebook. Nothing but contests. And I delete the companies I follow as soon as the contests are over. My social media is boring. I'm even bored with it. laugh out loud

Last year I planted sugar snap peas and had only two scraggly vines. Got about 12 pods out of the deal all summer, just ate them off the vine while weeding. Heard someone say to soak them before planting and was wondering if it was true.

When I was going up we would soak the peas over night and then plant them wrapped in paper towels and water alot so the paper towel would keep them moist............ Just remember there are reasons I call my mom the crazy lady next door. Its not just because she lives next door!!! laugh out loud

It does help seeds germinate quicker, I've soaked morning glory seeds before. Just have never done peas.
