RETIRED: Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Really ? what kind of mower is it ? What brand engine ? Many small engines over 8HP have both, and if they don't have elec. start the flywheel usually has the ring gear (teeth) because the elec. start is an option. Is there any local "guys" that repair sm engines ? or local places that sell parts ? You may be able to find someone that has used parts for sale.
12.5 h.p MTD, B&S engine. Trying to research it a little....can' you just take off that flywheel gear and change it, or do you have to take off the whole engine to get the flywheel gear off??

Think this is way above my skil level...lol

OK,, you have to remove the cover, then remove the flywheel. as long as ya have room to work I don't think you have to pull the engine from the mower. Probably just a big nut holding the flywheel to the crankshaft. Remove nut, use puller,,,, or.... pry under flywheel and give the end of the crank a good shot with a hammer to free it from the crank... it's a tapered fit. I personally don't like B&S engines, but thats just me. Price the flywheel before you even start

Me too! Have 2 spots left for probably week and half or so......so now it's all entries.....except for one night got the 20$ best buy.
A Best Buy one would be great. My guess is that there are a lot of people with one or two entry spots. I'd love to go to Vegas.

Thanks, that about what I need to know....haven't for sure decided if I'll mess with it or not....
Gotta find the book and get some numbers to price!

Changing to my mower, just went and got a battery, takes one of them dang little batteries...had to put in the acid and now it's on the charger.
Maybe a dumb question but said the acid had to be at 60 degree to start this....probably was when I started, but getting colder.......should I be trying to charge it now?

I think I'd still be working if I had a job where I could play around on the Internet all day. I hardly had a spare moment to see what the stock market was doing. What kind of work do you do that allows you so much free time?
