I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

Well Jules, I know a lot of people aren't claiming their winnings if under $600, and that's their perogative. And most will never have any repercusions from not claiming their smaller winnings. But I've been doing a lot of reading about this and have decided I will claim mine. Besides, it seems to have very little impact on the bottom line of my tax return. If by some chance a company turns in my name as someone they gave a prize to, which is always a possiblility, I don't want or need the headaches caused by a confrontation with the IRS. I am doing it for purely selfish reasons.

That's sort of funny, but then again it's not. The one thing I really like it for is when I'm doing my taxes because I stay on one site and it's small size allows me to fill the rest of the desk with papers, calculator, etc.

If Marlboro didnt give you a 1099 then they didnt report it to the IRS. You can go through and try to figure out the real value on a netbook that they had customized through Best Buy and add all the extras but without a 1099 its hard to say. Dont think most are even reporting them since theres no paper trail

I think I would have seen it if it were in there. I am going to call them and tell them I did not get them. Was it a noticeable envelope? I won before they announced they were giving them too but it said previous winners would also get them.
