ON TOP of the phone itself ? I don't think so.
What is it? Social status? My friend has one so I NEED one?
I'll take my dumb phone and laptop any day.

A summary from last time:

I think you're just so intent on going against the grain (even though it's illogical, cumbersome, less convenient, and provides no actual benefit to you) so you can delude yourself into feeling "unique" and "special."
In fact, you're so hellbent on going against anything with any sort of mass popularity so you can be "different" that you actually make yourself believe that the crap you have is somehow "better." And the funniest part about that is that it makes you so angry, you have to lash out at anyone that uses the devices that you hate so much. Which in turn makes you look like a complete idiot to everyone else because of your gigantic delusions, and then you become a social pariah. Well... bravo, buddy. You certainly set yourself apart from the crowd.

Speaking of family plans with all around smartphones...
Now we are talking over 2K per year!
I don't think I would "'enjoy" surfing the net and looking at Slickdeals on a small 4"screen and pay $30 per month DATA to do that.
Adds NO VALUE to what I can already do. Amazing how phone companies get away with this.
I pay $30 a month for a Cell Phone that can talk and text, then tack on $25 for Data.
So, I do pay $360 for a cell phone, but I technically only pay $300 for the Smartphone benefits.
Are you mad at the whole thing?
My iPhone 4 will work just fine until the iPhone 5 comes out. IMO.

Cell phones in general have a place... for emergencies etc. But most people over use them. Most conversations could wait.
Now Smartphones take this to a whole new level... people get all ga ga over a "FREE" android just look at all the 'deals" but DATA charges KILL IT.
Not sure why people see Smart Phones in a different light than any other product on Slickdeals.
Definitely NOT a SLICKDEAL when you pay extra for DATA you already have.
I get by without one just fine. I fact I'll be sad if my dumb phone dies.
You are basically DOUBLING your cell phone bill to look at a 4" screen
Smartphones are BIG

Perhaps Windows 8 phones will sway me (since they will be more powerful capability wise) if I see value in paying extra for "mobile" DATA
I'm not anti-tech... I like tech when is a benefit at lower cost
Hopefully the cell phone providers will eventually offer family data plans etc or eliminate data charges.
I do most of my stuff on wifi, but the rates are cheap enough to enjoy some mobile data when needed...
I will miss my dumbphone because it was small and tough, easy to use, and had a great battery life.
