I'll go point by point.
  • Shag is really tough to justify these days unless it's a room that no one's going to see and it's like your secret shame.
  • Berber is just fine.
  • Lace curtains are fine - in fact, most things are fine as long as it's not roast beef curtains (or worse, beef jerky curtains.)
  • It's assumed that the hardwood floor is heated from underneath.
  • Waxy and slippery is a-ok.
