Warm deal. I've had better luck calling them directly.

Got two years for $54.99 about six weeks ago.

Did you previously subscribe? When were you offered the deal...did you have to ask for $55? I called and she said the best she could offer is 50 issues for $50.

I was a previous subscriber, but my subscription had been expired for about a month prior. I asked if there were "any current promotions" and "is that the best price you can do?" a couple of times. They also were able to do Vanity Fair - $34/3 years.

Good luck!

Did they provide any Promotion Code? I called this number and they said there no promotion available for 54.99. Their current rate is 69.99 for a year. I want to order the magazine and would be great to get a promotion on subscription.

I called them up today and they said there is a promotion running right now which would give me a year for 54.99 and 2 years for 84.99. Buysub has it for 69.95 for 2 years.. Do you think buysub is reliable? According to the phone support at newyorker, buysub is not on their blacklisted vendors, but they cannot assure me that buysub is a valid distributer either.

alexymj, buysub seems to be a Conde Nast website. For example, go to thenewyorker.com and click on "subscription services" at the bottom of the page. It takes you to w1.buysub.com.

Hi all -

I found you whilst looking for a good renewal rate. In my search, I also found a great rate so I came back to let you know.

At magmall.com you can get two years (94 issues) of the New Yorker for a "regular" price of $55.00. This does not require calling anyone and begging or arm-twisting, mind you. There is also, on urlhasbeenblocked.com, a coupon code for an additional $5.00 off any purchase from the magmall.com site, so the effective rate was then $50.00 for 94 issues. They take credit cards or Paypal, and in the past, I have have no problems at all with subscribing through them. You can order online, or you can call and order by telephone should you prefer.

I hope this saves someone a few dollars and some time and hassle. Smilie

Thank you for coming back and sharing this deal. Could it be possible it was a different site? Magmall as of 05-12-2013 doesn't seem to be offering The New Yorker.

I don't know much about the magazine but as a Slickdealer I can't help but think a one year subscription for $40 is expensive.

Thanks, got the 49.95 deal ckinglam mentioned; none of the other deals that were posted would work for me. It's a great magazine, pricey, but at least I saved $20 (though I only paid $25/year last time!)
