RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Question for you......put a kitchen faucet on for my daughter yesterday....had a heck of a time getting the large black plastic nut loose on the under side.......not much room there.

Is there any easy way/tool to get that loose......?

basin wrench

http://homerepair.about.com/od/te..._basin.htm

Definition:
A basin wrench isn't used to remove a basin at all. It's used to remove those impossible to reach shallow nuts located on the underside of the sink and that hold the faucet to the sink. The faucet nuts are located behind and at the top of the sink bowl and are impossible to reach without this special tool.

or else get a big hammer, that works for everythig duct tape doesn't

Basin wrench will sometimes work.... sometimes not,, depends. I have in the past just took the clamps off the entire sink, disconnected the supply lines and drain and pulled the whole thing off the counter. Then ya can just flip it over and it's easy to work on.

I have a somewhat nice yard (nice grass) mostly. Last few years Ive started getting thistle and weeds really bad. Would like to get some kind of weed control that works and fertilize at the same time. After the weeds are gone I want to plant more grass in the bald spots that will be left but want a slow growing short kind of grass Sister want to lay down fake grass so she doesnt have to mow but I wont let her!!!!
Any advice would be appreciated. Im going to Lowes and Walmart tomorrow to buy it watever it is

that pic is a cheap one
there are better ones

like sprok said it doesn't always work
hard to get up there
depending on how old they install differently

if you know the manufacturer
call them they always have an answer they want you to buy from them again

Moen told me a way to get the insides out of my faucet with a dowl rod and a screw
when tools wouldn't work

Ok, the faucet came with the gadget in the picture....tried to figure out if it was for getting that black plastic "mounting nut" off there, but just couldn't figure it out......

Any ideas what this gadget was for? Might have come in handy if I knew what it was for in the 1st place.....
