Well you know I just don't get that many wins, and couldn't resist I'm glad you got involved in my little story, my life is generally unexciting (except for crisis, and that's no fun). Thank goodness for the Starbucks package, rode 9 hours and all I got out of it was a subway sandwich (couldn't find a Mexican restaurant to save my life, WTH!!! We were an hour away from Mexico!!!)

Thanks for keeping me on my toes I still haven't figured out why you had to go thru customs if ya dont leave the dinagdang country LOL And sorry about just the Subway sandwich LMAO

I called it customs but I think it was called an inspection point, whatever it was it was pretty darn intimidating!!! At least I got to use the $5 subway GC that arrived unexpectedly a few weeks ago Man I want to see the ocean again, so disappointed! I have to have an ocean fix every once in a while.

The furniture prize I won from homefurnishings.com is turning out rather odd. When the fellow called Tuesday he said the retailer I picked on my entry "has chosen not to participate" - the rules state ...awarded in the form of a credit at the participating HomeFurnishings.com furniture retailer of winner's choice. I gave him a new choice but now he wants me to pick three retailers and they will "contact them in order to secure their agreement to fulfill the prize". The problem is that the options are rather thin with most of the remaining stores selling goods of questionable quality. Doesn't sound like winners choice to me. I really don't want to to decline the prize but may have to end up doing so. Kinda stinks.

cwhetme and bornblondeey, I've been "gardening" more this year too. The difference is that I only have 15' x 30' in the back to "play" with because I live in a condo. I extended the flower bed on the one side to reach the clematis vine on the other. Originally because my Uncle gave me an azalea for Easter and I decided to put it in the back. The beds are edged in stone, so I still need to buy a few more to finish the 2nd row (thought it was better to have at least one row to enclose the bed.) Instead of planting my tomato/cucumbers in with the flowers, I put them in the new area with some sweet peppers. Someone suggested putting the cucumbers up a trellis, so I'll try that with one and see how well that works. The others can stay on the ground.
I envy you both for having more yard, but at the same time, I'm glad I don't have the work.

I'm not certain if they have to be used on Battleship-they are Hollywood Movie money. The other prizes are a K'nex Battleship and a $5 coupon for any Nabisco product.


3 years ago, I bought one strawberry plant (with 3 in the single tub-have to slickdeal here). I always try to buy plants with multiples, then I soak them in a bucket and gently pull them apart. I put one in each of the 3 flower beds. This year, I have more than 20 plants and have had strawberries for breakfast for the last 4 days!!

Just got home from a long day of riding....decided to be sweet and accompany hubby on service call to McAllen, TX. That's about as far down to the end of Texas you can get. Long boring drive....but was hoping after the call we could skip on over to south padre, which I've never been to, and stay the night....darned if he didn't fix the problem within 15 minutes!!! Blew that plan, hard to explain an overnite stay with that time. On the way back had to go through customs! Kind of intimidating, mind you we were still in the US!!!! Had a drug dog, german shepherd, and this hispanic agent asks us if we are US citizens, I wanted to ask :"are you?". I think I have authority issues. Thankfully we were clean
Anyway got home to find a big starbucks package: 3 bags of coffee, $15 GC, French press and nice long coffee scoop. Score!!! I must have won the starbucks contest, dunno, it didn't say.

Seems not the way to run a contest. Can you ask him if they will just give a GC to you....is this on FB, can we say anything for you to help?

I'm so very happy for you. Yes, life has been good and I'm back to reading a little (books). Sometimes I feel bad that I don't stop by and stay more often but I'm trying to make myself do other things besides sit at the computer. When I retired I wanted to do some painting (art) but I haven't gotten around to it because I'm at the computer so much, doing contests, playing games, reading emails, etc.

Yes the women's Bacardi shirts have a shorter sleeve and are tapered. We got to pick a size each time we entered. I haven't worn them yet but I will this summer when we're out and about with friends. They'll be my "good" t-shirts. I took a few t-shirts to the consignment shop this spring because my husband and sons didn't want them or they were the wrong size. I just don't need to have them laying around.
