Hi all,
I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.
Everyone is welcome!
I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.
This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.
So, I hope it catches on !
So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Oh it was great what I would do is when she went to sleep I would stay up and enter all my sweeps at night till real late and still get up with her in the morning so was not getting sleep. My grandkids fell in love with her ecpecially Belle cuz I still watched her the first week Jeanie was here. The Minute Jeanie left yesterday I had that sick homesick feeling missing her right away took all day to get rid of that missing feeling. But we had such a great time and now she is thinking coming back in May when my Niece from Calif. that has been going to college in Minneapolis graduates. She just happens to be Jeanies God Daughter.
What is the European city where the Belem Tower is located?
You Answered: Lisbon
CORRECT!
Located on the bank of Portugal's Tagus River, Belem Tower was built under King John II's orders as both a defensive structure and ceremonial gateway to Lisbon
VERY glad to hear how much better Shelby is doing, Jules. Here's hoping that all her problems will just be a distant memory in a few months.
My time lately has been taken up by visits to veterinarians. First Miss Kitty, my 17 year old beauty, developed another urinary tract infection. Got that cleared up and then she started having breathing problems. My regular vet thought it was another polyp in one of her nasal passages but couldn't find anything on the x-ray. He sent me to a specialist who unfortunately diagnosed the problem – cancer of the larynx. I'm dosing her with steroids in hopes of reducing the size of the tumor, but haven't seen any improvement so it doesn't seem to be working.
I know – she's seventeen – but I expect my cats to live until the ripe old age of 20, plus this illness just showed up "out of the blue." No warnings, no slow development, it's just there. And yes, my heart is breaking, but I've lost cats before and I can deal with it. Eventually.
You remember the $50 worth of pork I won last Saturday? The coupons showed up yesterday – FedEx'ed – and I gave them to my sister this morning when she came to visit. She was upset because they specified "fresh" pork and she doesn't want to cook it. I suggested she give it to her son-in-law who is his family's cook, let him prepare it and give her half. That would be a win-win for each of them, right? There was a certain gleam in her eye as she pondered the possibility. We'll see what she does but the coupons don't expire until the end of the year, so she'll have until then to figure out how she can get to keep it all.
Oh, and I have to tell you about her friends' reactions to all the stuff I give her. They're worried that I am somehow being scammed. I must be paying a lot of money to "win" these prizes and they think she should intervene before I lose all my savings. I gather they comment, "That's a shame" and "Oh, my" a lot. She keeps telling them that I'm not paying anybody anything to get the prizes; that companies just give the things away as advertisements, but people just don't believe her. None of my friends have ever questioned the way I grab all these goodies, but they know me and know I'd never "pay to win". She says she keeps telling them that it's not a problem, but they keep telling her I'll be broke before the year is out and she ought to do something. Have any of you ever gotten that reaction?
Well, time to let you get back to your real lives. So, until my next twelve page dissertation, win big ! !
That will be fun and wont be as hot!
HOT? We had mostly rain and the floods while she was here. Now this next week will be beautiful! Figures. And this damn cold I hope she didn't take home with her. Been over a week now and I swear I am going to cough up a Lung.

SHE TYVM about Shelby here is newest picture her momma posted on face book: All Tubes and IV's gone. Hope soon to go home. I am so sorry about Miss Kitty I know they are like family. I grew up with alot of cats and dogs and they were my best friends. Hope she we will make it to the big "2 O" for you and her. Also yes most people I talk to don't understand at all what we do. The family and close friends say "Teach me how to do that" but don't want to listen what you say and how. We are a RARE group and we ROCK LOL especially for the family and friends that get the goods.

Its been miserable here!!! No rain and only a hot wind!..... That reminds me...... I forgot to turn off the sprinkler!!! I might have a flood here too!!!
We would normally be able to swim this time of year but weird weather. Didn't you see the floods here? Made national news. Well Duluth MN did not us LOL we are just little Superior over the bridge that flooded too.
She's adorable. Thanks for keeping us updated.

The possibility never occurred to me and I was shocked that her friends thought I needed an intervention to save me from myself. I was just wondering if anyone else here had ever experienced this questioning of your sanity. (Please note: I'm certain we've all had our sanity questioned more than once, but I'm specifically referring to the winning of contests/sweeps.
