RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

shesays, I hope that there is something more that they can do for Miss Kitty. Steroids would just reduce swelling, so she could eat more easily and help her breathing. I looked up (swagbucks, of course) "cats cancer of the larynx" and it seems like surgery or chemo/radiation is the normal treatment. Enjoy her while you have her. Cats are such a blessing.

BTW, my Mom has been feeding the neighborhood stray and calls her Miss Kitty. It gave me a "start" to see your cat's name.

Congratulations to her. (Of course, keeping down their sugar intake probably helps.) And it sounds like they're the type of siblings who will willing watch out for their new sister.nod

Thank you for for the Comfort

From the responses I've gotten here, I was correct -- my sister's friends are just weird. But, as they say, "Birds of a feather....." Just don't tell my sister I said that ! ! ! As long as my family and I are having fun, that's all that counts.bouncebounce

SHE, we are just doing it right and have the advantage of learning here in the funny farm, I don't know if you entered before OWTW but I didn't, this is the best thing that ever happened to me. Not just the way to do contests but the FF. This is my everyday!!!

Surgery or chemo would probably kill her at her age. The specialist said she was too old to make those viable options and reducing the swelling was the most we could hope for. And truth be told, I can't see putting her through all of that on just the possibility of extending her life a few months. I love her so much but accept that letting her go is the best choice. When she stops eating or has too much trouble breathing I'll have her put to sleep. My regular vet said he had no problem with my being with her when it's time, so that's the plan. I got her from the pound sixteen years ago and she's had a good life since then (she'd been abused and has been so grateful and loving). I'm going to deal with this even though I've been crying a bit. Oh, who am I kidding? I've been crying a lot.

My other cat -- Azizi who's nine -- adores Miss K but realizes that something is wrong. He's started grooming her once in a while which he never did before. And she lets him, which she never did before. He'll take her dying hard, but within a few weeks I'll get another cat to keep him company and we'll all muddle through.

I never even knew there are contests like we have here at SD before OWTW and in truth, it was months after that, when I saw all of you talking about your wins, that I started actually entering. I never would have done that without the FFers and have always appreciated all your help.

I'm having a blast with this and am only ticked off that I didn't know about it sooner. Well, live and learn and all that. What's important is that I'm snagging goodies left and right and passing most of them on to relatives who do appreciate them. If only I could get more SHOES ! ! ! nod

I have the feeling that at the end, as the doctor is removing the life support from my wasted body, I'll be mumbling, "Just one more shoe contest. Just let me enter one more time." My only real concern is that there will be Captchas in the afterlife. Scary, huh?vomit

OH you got me crying now I am so sorry. What you just said is exactly what I went through when my brother died. So I know exactly what you are going through. Family I am so sorry for your baby. And being with your love at the end helps hold her to the end.
