RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

YEP!!! Thats what I get too!!! That or, If youre not gonna use that I'll make a deal with you. Which usually means son gets it and I get something in the future that I will never really get!!!
Hey -- at least you periodically get the OFFER of a trade. My sister doesn't even bother.

Mind you, I've told her from the beginning that she was doing me a favor by taking the prizes off my hands. She actually thinks she's helping me out. nod Although I do wonder if she ever wonders why I enter for things I'd never use. I tell her "Well it obviously wasn't first prize" even when it was. She's so happy that she gets to give stuff to her kids and their kids even though she can't afford to normally do things for them. So we'll spend hours going over all the prizes and figuring out who she thinks will enjoy what the most then pile it all into her trunk and she heads north to play Santa Claus in drag.

What's funny is that she's always so surprised by how nice some of the wins are. Her mouth dropped when she saw the blue-ray/DVD player from Panasonic. And all the cleaning supplies from Seventh Generation. And the coolers/backpacks from Mountain Dew. And sure, we laugh at how tacky some of the stuff is, but who cares, someone will want it.bounce

I never even knew there are contests like we have here at SD before OWTW and in truth, it was months after that, when I saw all of you talking about your wins, that I started actually entering. I never would have done that without the FFers and have always appreciated all your help.

I'm having a blast with this and am only ticked off that I didn't know about it sooner. Well, live and learn and all that. What's important is that I'm snagging goodies left and right and passing most of them on to relatives who do appreciate them. If only I could get more SHOES ! ! ! nod

I have the feeling that at the end, as the doctor is removing the life support from my wasted body, I'll be mumbling, "Just one more shoe contest. Just let me enter one more time." My only real concern is that there will be Captchas in the afterlife. Scary, huh?vomit

captha hell
scarry
sorry try again

I didn't start entering untill OWTW was over

Surgery or chemo would probably kill her at her age. The specialist said she was too old to make those viable options and reducing the swelling was the most we could hope for. And truth be told, I can't see putting her through all of that on just the possibility of extending her life a few months. I love her so much but accept that letting her go is the best choice. When she stops eating or has too much trouble breathing I'll have her put to sleep. My regular vet said he had no problem with my being with her when it's time, so that's the plan. I got her from the pound sixteen years ago and she's had a good life since then (she'd been abused and has been so grateful and loving). I'm going to deal with this even though I've been crying a bit. Oh, who am I kidding? I've been crying a lot.

My other cat -- Azizi who's nine -- adores Miss K but realizes that something is wrong. He's started grooming her once in a while which he never did before. And she lets him, which she never did before. He'll take her dying hard, but within a few weeks I'll get another cat to keep him company and we'll all muddle through.
I understand. My 1st cat, CBB had cancer. The vet thought he could remove it all and she could live a lot longer (she was 11yo), but it had spread. I regretted the surgery, but didn't know .......... My dog, Heather, died from liver cancer-the specialist told me the same thing that yours did.
Just enjoy her while you can.

Azizi will probably help her even more as time goes on. He may let her eat his treats, give her 1st chance at any food, snuggle with her, in addition to helping her groom. It is very touching to watch. He may not want you to bring in another cat. You'll be able to tell....hug

seriously.. ya went there.. lame..

ok here it is.. any ideas?

It does fold up & fit in that case. If you want 250 of them, they are 85 cents a piece and you can put any picture/logo you want on it.
