I was at Costco yest (1600 Expo Parkway,Sacramento, CA) yesterday and bought 4 Johnnie Walker Blue Label for $119.99 each.
There is no limit, you can buy as many as you want.
This deal ends 06/08 i.e., tomorrow.
Regular price(146.99) - Instant Rebate at Checkout($27) = $119.99 + Tax.
Regularly, I pay $150 Cash at a liquor store for this. This is a good deal if you like Blue Label.
I might go today again and stock some more.
Cheers!

This is true for the Costco in Brick, NJ but not for the one in Edison. In Edison, all the booze is located within the store itself, and requires membership.
By law they have to allow non-members access to purchase the booze, regardless of location. Just tell the greeter you are there to buy alcohol only.

In certain states this is true: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Texas and Vermont.
For those looking to try single malts, I don't see any reason to start with something super expensive. Start with a 10 or 12 year that's in the $35-50 range and work your way up. If you start with a $100 bottle then you're less likely to be able to appreciate the complexity, so your money is kind of wasted in a way.
Also, if you can, find a whisk(e)y tasting event. An excellent way to taste a bunch and really get a feel for what you like.
Good starters IMO in that they're not too intense in any way:
Balvenie Doublewood 12 year
Glenmorangie Original 10 year
Macallan - 12 year if you like something with a strong flavor, 10 year if you want something smooth and light
This man is from Scotland the Brave with 1700+ reps, he must speak the truth!
Although honestly, I'd probably get flamed for this but I don't taste very much of a difference between black label vs blue label. What I don't really like is how Johnnie Walker doesn't make their own whisky. They just get the goodies from different distillery, blend it and call it JW. I went to a Johnnie Walker taste test event and this is what I thought: red taste like crap, + OJ or Ginger Ale and it's yummy. Black is everyday whisky, Gold taste $50 better than black and a little spicier, and Blue taste $100 better than Black. I also tasted massive amount of marketing and labeling on Gold and Blue.
I did picked up a bottle of Gold for 49.97 from the Carlsbad Costco the other day since my gf likes it (which I really think she just liked the marketing aspect of it). $119.99 is very good price for the Blue label if you can taste the difference.
So for those of you who live in states where alcohol can be $$$$ what online vendors have you used that you would recommend?
Each year when we drive out to CA to visit family... we come back with a trunk of booze! I grab 3 or 4 1.75L of Maker's Mark, 2 or 3 1.75L of Gentleman Jack, plenty of Margarita fixins and however many cases of wine we pick up on our trip out to Napa.
It seems that for the most part... 750ml are usually $5-$10 cheaper and 1.75L are usually $15-$20 cheaper. We just stock up and drive 'em back out to CO.

To all the JW haters, please tell me an alternative to Black because I really enjoy the taste of the Black. I drink it straight and sometimes with ice.

Why not just stick with Black then? It's a good drink for a good price. When I was at the Johnnie Walker tasting event, the whisky master said that the Black Label has been the same blend since the 1600/1700s. Where as, Green Label/Gold Label/Blue Label are later introduced in the late 1900s as even more rare, exclusive blends. (IMO it's just marketing bs to milk more money just by introducing a premium lineup)
i think @ this price JWB is great for someone who likes it or just wants to show off to general public @ b-day party
few personal scotch favorites though:
highland park 12 or 15
Oban 14 <- I love sweets and this one i feel some honey
many others, but didn't like mcallan that much (tried up to 18 yr)
Another vote for Lagavulin here - I managed to get a bottle at Costco about 5 years ago for $60. That was a good deal.

Grand Wine Celllar. Lagavulin is about $85 in MN. I can buy a case at GWC for about $60/ bottle shipped. JWB is about $190 here- $160 at GWC last time I purchased it. Too bad MN Costco doesn't carry it.
