Sad
Ok, so summer has started and I have been playing lots more tennis, I mean lots, avg. 10+ hours a week, and even using sunblock I have went up a good 5 shades, I am Chinese suppose to be lighter/light skin, yellow if you wanna say, now I look dark as some of the Hispanic people out there. Anything I can do? My parents get md at me for this b/c they say girls won't like me as I am so dark and stuff, and they always tell me to not play tennis although I do anyway. Anyway, any advice how to reverse this?

When was the last time you went back.
I can tell you've never tried to borrow money from the bank.
I just went back to live in China for 4 months last year, Feb-Jun 2011. With me, I brought a cousin who was born here and had never been to China ever in her life. I explained and translated our culture to her during our whole trip.
And prior to that, in 2008, I took a 7-week backpacking trip to China with my ex-bf and another friend to 15+ different cities along the Chinese coast. I was the only Chinese-speaking person on the trip and did all the translating even though I can only read 1st grade Chinese. I am proud of my attachment to my homeland and proud of the trips I made back there to get to know it.
Devils advocate aside, you make some great points, but you'd have to be a bit naive in this country to see something posted that essentially says "mom and dad say the darker I am, the worse it is for me" and not expect to get a bit of knee jerk backlash. Right or wrong, that's kind of how the OP came across. And to be honest, if I saw someone posting about how their parents said something along the lines of "no girl will ever want you if you dress like that and wear your hair like that and have a nose ring" I'd have a similar reaction to the people you quoted above.
I'm simply trying to get people to see it's not a race issue. It's just regular parents misguided advice, only difference is that the advice is based off another culture.
My parents never told me "oh don't gain weight or dress weird, you'll never attract a man that way!" That would just seem out of place here, I would think.

All I'm saying is that the white issue here doesn't have to do with race.

There was a weight loss show recently where they follow the person around for the summer and document their lives. This one girl had a father whose MAIN concern for his daughters weight loss was that now she had a better chance of getting a husband. To the point that even her brothers (who were as ruthless as brothers can be to a sister) had to sit the father down and explain that she wasn't losing weight with the express purpose of gaining a husband. It was pretty sad.
Check out guildwars 2 when it out, or do some evercrack. Whiten you right up
And Mao FVCKed these guys over during the u know what revolution.
Then I apologize if I misquoted.
