i've seen it too. but i'm more conservative than some people, so i would think it might be a bit much, and disrespectful. but you're right - the front is conservative (on both dresses).

then again, it's not in a church. maybe i will wear a cardigan to cover it up, just in case. Scratchchin

do you think the teal is more wedding-appropriate than the blue or black one?
I think teal is the right color for the season because it's still summer. If it was winter, then I'd probably say the blue. I think you can definitely pick and choose, but of course, a contrasting cardigan like purple to make it pop! I feel like black isn't a too appropriate color because I think funeral. And a wedding is a celebratory event, so I tend to try to go non-black if I can...But yeah, I mean, black is classic and such, but weddings are fun! Lots of color!

You can do every single video once every day until you win, but you can only win one time per phone number. Once you click on the video you can skip all the way to the end, you don't *actually* have to watch it. You can also stack up to 5 gift cards at once. They expire November 4th.

Back when Macys had this game through facebook I made so many FB accounts I won $2,000 in GC's laugh out loud (Not condoning cheating, just telling you you can enter many times Smilie )
Nice wins!! Thanks for the info. I just scroll to the back. That's a lot of time lost watching videos shake head Is there a set time each day I should watch? Or just whenever? It seems random.

BTW - hope you're feeling better!

oh, i think black is fine for a wedding. i never really associate black with funeral... but you're right - teal would be better for the season. i will ask dbf and see what he says about the open back dress. he may disapprove.

yes, that is why i hoard too! except my tastes and size changes so i always end up needing something else. laugh out loud

you don't think the open back is too risque for a wedding? i thought that it might be, which is why i had decided on the teal/black colorblock one. also, it'll need ironing (already needs it) and i'll have to throw it into my carry on.
Like you said later, just throw a cardi/jacket over it for the ceremony, all bets are off for the reception. As for colors- I avoid dark colors for a morning ceremony/afternoon reception and avoid pastels for an afternoon ceremony/evening reception, letting time of ceremony dictate what feels more formal. That teal is rich enough, I'm sure it would work both weddings if it were in my closet.

thanks! it is an evening ceremony/night reception. i don't have a lot of cardigans so i will probably throw a black one over. it is the only one i have that's not wool. laugh out loud with teal, i'm not sure what shoes to bring either.

someone recommend some nice light cardi's for me! i'm in dire need of some.

In a pinch, you could use a black suit jacket and black pumps. That would multi-task during your trip. Or similarly, a gray or tan suit jacket w/ metallic/earth-tone pumps.

that's a good point. i do have a black blazer/boyfriend jacket that i love to wear. it wouldn't have gone with the colorblock dress but it'd go with this teal one! thanks for the reminder!

As for cardigans, stalk Express. They have a lot of nice ones during late fall/winter months. I picked up a ton from them pretty much every season.

Also VS. They have this now [victoriassecret.com]. It's lighter than the ones I have from Express. Good for summer nights kind of light. I like Express' because they would actually work during fall/winter. VS' not so much. I pretty much own one in almost every color shake head You can't go wrong with a pop of color. You can even pair teal cardigan with your black dress or something to change it up nod

thanks for the recs! i am expecting ppl to link the express ones here whenever they pop up on the site. laugh out loud

now that you mention it, i've tried the sexy cardi from vs. i don't think i liked it very much but i can't remember why. maybe i'm not a huge fan of cardigans in general. that could be the reason why i have almost none.

yeah... i'll bet! i have seen many kids complaining in clothing stores or beauty stores.. they need to learn to let mommy shop!! :l ol: hopefully you can get back to the store. : )

i like this dress [zara.com]! it'd be nice for shower or rehearsal. too bad it's only avail in M. tho now i wonder if that would fit me.
That dress would be perfect for rehearsal. You could always try the M, then return it, if it doesn't fit. I ended up ordering both sizes.

Quote from nerdgirl :
: nod: i love zara! loved it more when they were only in europe... the few pieces i have from there are from my europe trips back in college.

:lol : thanks! it's a really pretty blue.

oh i don't know if anyone knew, but the back of that dress is open. does that change anything?

i also ordered this color but decided i liked blue or black better than the nude.
I really like the nude dress.

Quote from azn1x6flame :
Open back dress! So you!! I vote for both now!! laugh out loud I kind of like the nude though. Because of the material, it looks like it would be very dreamy kind of dress.
I think nude is my favorite, but I can see why skin tone would make a difference. The blue color is really pretty too.

Quote from nerdgirl :
i love red with fair skin - i think it's such a nice complementary color and it really pops! hope you get it to work!
I think my DH likes me in red for the same reason I don't. It really brightens my face & skin. He likes that. It makes me feel like a flashing red light. It's like, "hey everybody, look at me". shake head

I think I started hoarding because I needed dresses for certain events and I didn't have any and always had to go out and buy something and ended up with subpar dresses. So now, I started hoarding and it's easier to shop in my closet than buy something I don't love to have something to wear.
Me too. I had to buy last minute dresses for all the weddings I've been to in the past few years. I'm so glad to finally have something I actually want to wear, when I need it.

Hi ladies! : wave:

Lancome GWP ($35) at Macy's. Looks pretty nice, just wanted to give you all a heads up. Chance to win a macys GC here (you don't really need the QR reader. Enter through your browser on your mobile phone through the link in post 17) if you all are interested. I've won for me, DH, sister and my work phone : lol: $85 in GC's! :woot :
Thanks girl. I hope you're feeling better. hug

I used to think black was fine for weddings too. Unfortunately, both of the weddings I wore black to ended in divorce. All the others are still married. I promised I wouldn't wear black again. laugh out loud

laugh out loud i highly doubt your black dress ended their marriage. statistically 50% of marriages end in divorce, right?

i've only worn solid black once, but i wouldn't hesitate to wear it again. it's just, i've been loving all these colors lately...

i love the nude on the model as well. i didn't love it on me. Dontknow

and i can see your point about red. it IS very flashy. i think that's the beauty of it!

I hope VS has another free ship with bra code soon! I'm annoyed because the one that expired sunday is still advertised on the site even though it's not working anymore.
