What are you girls waiting on? :bo nk: That dress looks awesome on both of you. I can't wait to wear it.
Harhar

i found my code from some online site. i wanted to order last night and i didn't get an email yet. but fwiw, express always has about 20 codes that are working at any given time. i've tried - there's usually a bunch. who knows why they do this. Dontknow

i'm waiting bc it's still $$ and i have no occasion to wear that to. besides, the dress is less useful for me bc it's too short to wear to weddings and such - i'd have to flip it around and wear it out at a night.

Just to confirm, she was a Bridezilla to the bitter end. Facepalm The thing that clinched it for me was when at the post-rehearsal "Happy Hour" they were telling the ppl at our table that a lot had canceled so they should invite anyone they can, since it's already paid for. I pipe up and say, "So, can I call Co-worker BM and let her know that she can bring her boyfriend?" (Refresher: co-worker BM did all the work, all the mediating, etc.... and was not allowed her BF as a date). Groom responds immediately with an emphatic nod, "Absolutely". The bride, seated next to him hears this and chimes in, "NO. No, there is no room at the bridal table for him" . Yeah... so something inexplicably personal going on there. (FYI, there was no "bridal table", significant others of the bridal party sat with the vendors (photogs, etc.) ) . Just wow. I had a good time hanging out with the groomsmen Wink
all i can say is, Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) glad it's over for you. coworker bm should have brought her bf anyway.

Glad it's over! Finally the wedding from hell is done! I can't believe the significant others sat at a table with vendors! Too funny that people were cancelling the wedding from their plans :shakes: Says a lot.

I am officially a BM for my friend that's getting married in April! Whee

New to BM duties, so this ought to be a fun and interesting ride!
I don't know if I'm supposed to help with DIY center pieces + invitations, but she sent an email out about what she's looking to do.

I know she's looking for nicely priced BM royal purple dresses. Probably less than $100 ea so I'll have to stalk Express now like you gals! Smilie I think probably in the ~$50 range? Or less??

Wave Nice to see you around! Hang in there and stay safe!!

Wave Nope, no meet up here. Woulda been fun if there was!

I am waiting for September to use the PBOS on the Go East cherry blossom bra!

All right. I should get a sample from Sephora to test the Ojon Treatment. I never remember things like that when I am at the store.

Congratulations. My friend told us what she needed us (BMs) to do in the beginning. She had a BMs meeting. She was a good bride. No crazy demands on us or from us. Since you are so excited, it tells me that your friend will be a good bride also.

You know me, I want to shop now. And I will shop again in September!

How are you doing? Is the storm bad where you are? Check in with us ASAP, so we'll know you're okay. hug

I hope this is a fun experience for you. It will be good practice for your wedding. If you can find a dress at Express, you should be able to get a great deal with BOGO or 30% off & a good coupon.

Speaking of bridesmaids, where is Porda? I hope she made it out alive. laugh out loud

We got the same one. Nerdis code was different. Why would they bother creating different codes for the same discount? If it was regional, ours would be different.

Do you still have really long hair? If so, what shampoo & conditioner do you use? The only brand I've found so far that practically eliminates tangles is L'anza. It's pretty expensive though. I'd be willing to try something else, if I had confidence that it would help with tangles.

I would prefer the BOGO work for categories rather than everything. It's easier to use a coupon on 2 sweaters + 2 jewelry items (for example) than to put together a great deal when everything is BOGO.

Thanks

What are you girls waiting on? Bonk That dress looks awesome on both of you. I can't wait to wear it.
Trying to check in and say me and my family are ok. We're about 45 miles north of NOLA and getting hit pretty decent here. No power (SUCKS) and its SO hot. The storm is moving so slow it looks like we have another 12 hours of storming. Boo. About to go sit in my car for AC lol. If there is a lull in the storm I may make a run for the car haha. Hope you all are well!

For those who have been BM's, brides, brides to bes, I have some questions since I'm totally not familiar with this process.

Are BMs supposed to include the bride on email correspondence for planning the showers and bachelorette parties? I'd assume so, but I don't know if it should be more of planning off to the side and then telling her these are best 3 ideas or something?

Also - I figured that things like this should be worked backwards? Knowing date first and then planning said bridal showers and bachelorette parties? Am I wrong? Should things go with invitation making and such first?

My friend is very laid back and has not set anything in stone, just gave some online sites that have bridesmaid duties. So I'm not really sure where to start? I thought about sending an email to the BMs, but maybe that's too premature?

Yes, Done Done Done! I think they got put with the vendors b/c they were far far away from the wedding party table... don't want to distract us! laugh out loud Yeah. On their Facebook pages leading up to the wedding, there was NOTHING- not "So excited!" nada. That said alot to me too.

Bonk you're soooooo baiting me! hahaha .
For the Bride, you need to know what dates she's available and if there's any "cannot miss" guests- so what dates they're available. Also probably good to find out what *kind* of party she has in mind - clubbing and crazy or relaxed, laidback, pampering. Also good to figure out scale- 1 night in-town (less $, more ppl) or 2 nights (Vegas, Palm Springs, etc. - more $$, less ppl). It's supposed to be a party you throw for her, so I'd probably ask for 3 things she does want (a nice dinner) and 3 things she absolutely does NOT want (strippers, penis pops, girly stuff) to get an idea of what she has in mind and then run with that. We had no formal invite, just an evite.

Shower- again, need to know dates and guest list. IME, Brides aren't too picky about a party being thrown for them where they are "showered" with gifts, so unless she has colors in mind or an activity she wanted included/excluded, it's up to you and the other BM's. Everyone is different, but as long as the Bride isn't a nervous micromanaging nutjob, I'd leave her out of the details - she has enough to worry about and enough decisions to make. I'd probably contact the BM's to introduce yourself and test the waters. You can ask what their schedules are (if they have any big trips planned) and let them know you're excited to work with them.

haha you are doing this super early, but it's so nice that you're so excited! i wish i had you as a bm! lol. mine didn't seem to want to do anything, which was sort of how i was too.

you have plenty of time to work this stuff out. Smilie let her set a date first. doesn't seem right to set a date for bachelorette and shower without a wedding date yet! hahah. you can probably not even start on planning those parties until next year.

that's the sweater i was wondering about laugh out loud. it didn't look like that on me. I'll have to see if it rides up when I walk. I could make it look like that (bunched up on the side). I'm short so it looks cute pulled down on me. I would wear the opaque tights under it or leggings if it rides up or wear it like in the pic with jeggings.

Alvs I was debating that sweater too, except I'm way to tall to wear it as a dress. haha I haven't tried it on yet though. I say go for it, and if it rides up, you could wear it with leggings like you said. What color are you thinking of?

I'm gonna have to ask how this Ex-bride's BF thing went! laugh out loud shake head

Thanks for all these BM tips! I feel a little more at ease. Got the first email out of the way, so that's good. We're all college friends, so the good thing is nothing awkward, hopefully Big Grin I will probably have to ask you questions along the way! laugh out loud

She sent us something from bridesmaid101.com or something from one of those sites with a huge multi-page list, so I probably went into overdrive mode!

Yeah, I figured no dates yet until she figures out her date and venue!
