I've seen them in the store, and I've been thinking about picking one of the metallic ones up. However, they're REALLY scratchy. The metallic thread is really irritating, and I'm not sure my skin can handle it easily. I dont think they'll pick easily just based on the fabric, but watch out.

I don't know about the second one.

I used to get American manicures. Much more natural than French. You will probably like it. Hopefully, you can do a trial before the wedding.
thanks hon! so will most salons know how to do it? i'm new to this whole 'get nails done' thing... it will be my first time! do i just ask for an american mani?

i did a semi-trial at home - stark white tips on left hand and sheer tips on right. i prefer the sheer, even tho it doesn't stand out as much. i'm just going to wing it and get the american mani - i hope they have essie marshmallow or something comparable!

do you usually (or can you) bring your own polish for them to use? i know it sort of beats the whole purpose, but i have a zoya that i heart that i want to wear on my toes. i never know how things look until i put them on so i'm worried that i'll pick a color that looks nice but not nice on me.

you can take your own polish. most places know what an american mani is. if not just tell them you want more natural looking french mani.

Yes, a nail salon should know how to do an American manicure. Just ask "Instead of a French, do you do American manicures?" If the answer is not yes (they do not understand and you have to explain it), I would not get it done. But everywhere I have ever gone knows how to do it. Is someone recommending a salon to you? If not, I would not pick an empty salon. You definitely can bring your own polish. I find that salons either have a pleathora of polish choices or not so much. The salon I get my eyebrows threaded at only uses OPI, but there is only two glitter polishes and maybe 30-40 total polishes. My former salon had at least 100 polishes. Last time I had a pedicure thankfully I brought my own polish because the salon only had one glitter polish. You can have the technician test the polish on you before the mani/pedi. Just let him/her know so the base coat is not applied.

Good to know that you're feeling better these day, azn! hug Sorry you had to quit your job. I remember you said HR was giving you a hard time back then, so I guess it's all for the best. I gather you're focusing on the GMAT right now? Best of luck on that and on going back to college! bounce

Ah, the BM and MOH situation sounds like a mess. shake head I agree with GH and just let them tired themselves out.

I haven't placed a new VS order yet since the cancellation. Waiting on a FS code.

Oh, those are cute sweaters! Girly Putting them on my wishlist. I like fitted tops too! Smilie
Thanks and yep yep!

I'm just going to let the BM and MOH ride things out. BM found something yesterday to make even more complicated Faint I guess I'm just slightly worried about the bachelorette party part since the bride wants to do extreme outdoorsy stuff. Which in my mind, costs more than a night out. I could be very wrong, but I'm leaning towards artsy/crafty stuff to make sure the costs are a little more bareable. Hopefully!

If the bride goes the traditional way, I guess I expect that the BMs would be footing quite a bit of the bill for a lot of things.
