you won't look weird! just ask to look neutral with a naked eye and that's what they'll do. hopefully she'll take your suggestions and use a makeup artist. otherwise she WILL look plain... it helps SO MUCH with standing out in photos. and you shouldn't be worried about your hair falling out - her wedding is probably a great opportunity to test out an updo to see if that's what you might want for your own wedding. I hope so!! I have a hair style in mind already cause I don't think I'm going to do updo, I think I look better with hair framing my face. So I might test run that! If she allows for non-upo hair! Your curls were gorgeous!!

Other BMs just chimed in on actual feasible dresses that I just agreed to cause they look good and like what we all want. So hopefully that will bring her to her senses.

What type of base coat, polish, & top coat do you all recommend for a long lasting manicure? I've read gel & shellac polishes are good. Any recommendations? We'll be gone 15 nights, 16 days on our anniversary trip. I'd like to only paint my nails before leaving home, if possible. I suppose I could redo them, if I must. Also, what colors should I use on my fingers & toes? What goes with everything? My DH prefers a red shade on my toes, but I'm not sure if that will go with everything. I have Zoya Mieko http://www.zoya.com/content/38/it...Mieko.html that he also likes. What do you think about that color on my toes?

hehe i'm still here. going to chime in - for hands, it'll be really difficult to get anything to last for 16 days, just bc your nails will grow out. so even if it stays chip-free (which is unlikely) it'll still look weird. i might bring some polish to touch up, or else just remove it and go polish-free for a few days.
gel polishes do last a lot longer, so i've heard. (never tried) i heard good stuff about the new revlon gel-like polish.
for zoya polishes, it lasts pretty long on my toes (i can go 2 weeks easily) but on hands, i have had the most luck cutting my nails so that they're short, then using sally hansen base coat before the zoya. i use seche vite for everything bc it helps dry the polish so fast that i have less incidents with messing it up.

I agree about the hands. My fingernails grow super fast.

Thanks. I'll check out the Revlon polish. I did read that shellac & gel polishes are hard on your nails. It would be nice to get a long lasting mani w/o the damage. I'll take whatever I use with me for touch-ups or to redo them. What color should I use on my fingernails?

i currently have zoya delilah [zoya.com] on my toes. i absolutely LOVE this shade. perfect red with glitter. my favorite zoya red creme is vanessa [zoya.com] (i got this from allure). it's amazing bc it looks different in different lights (can lean orange and blue depending on incandescent or fluorescent lighting). it looks more red in person.

I got the pleated front tee http://www.express.com/pleated-fr...iewed=true today. I'm thrilled for the price I paid. The XS is snug in the chest area, but isn't tight anywhere else. Size down for a fitted look. A Small would also fit for a more loose look. I'd like to get another one, but I'm not crazy about any of the other colors. Black is always a possibility I suppose.
