RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

that is correct. But , you never know, right?
Just got off the phone with the doctor. Took that horrible pill again this week (i stopped for 3 weeks because I could not take it - the bone density one) and he said to stop immediately. Good thing he called me back. His nurse told me earlier that I just have to get used to it but it gets worse each time I take it. Said to call him monday to see what we can do with me. I just spent $111 for them and now they are wasted. Don't know. So now I will worry until monday. EEK!

Where is this picture? I looked at the time but could never find it.
I'm no expert on tagging people on facebook, and that's what it was. It's a way to share a link with your facebook friends. That one said there was a photo of you, and there was no photo, so it was confusing to you and both my sisters. The ongoing string of comments was funny, to me anyway.
Sorry your summer is so hot!

Lady from Brandmovers must be refreshed, actually got back to me this time without waiting a week! Said she passed the info on to Colemans a month ago but will check. Colemans told me they knew nothing so we'll see what happens. If they dont send it soon Im gonna complain that I missed camping season so just send the check!!! laugh out loud
I had the advantage of being at the Coleman Campout, so I at least had the phone number of the PR rep that was there. Our camping gear came directly from Coleman, although Brandmovers seems to be involved with getting your prize to you.
Too much time has passed, and the lack of communication is annoying. A person should not have to chase after a prize, especially one so huge. It's been seven weeks since I won the grand prize, and I've heard nothing more about it, via telephone or e-mail. It's about time to put a private message on Coleman's facebook page, which was the contest entry site. I don't know what else to do at this point.

At least you do get something done. I go from thing to thing and seems like nothing gets finished. Now the humidity is building, air conditioner is still not in (still cutting wood to do things right and nice, and sweating badly.)
I hate it when I sweat. I never did when I was younger. Now I go out to water in this heat and I get all flushed and splotchy.

There's a lot of organizing I need to do, too, but haven't felt like doing it. Funny thing is, most all the stuff is in the room that's cool, but I'm down here where it's warmer except for the fan on me and the computer.

I read about your concerns with bone density drugs when I was in Colorado, and I wanted to write then, but was short on time.

I had to switch dentists, because mine retired shortly after he pulled one of my teeth. My new dentist gave me four pages of material to read about bone density drugs such as Fosimax or Boniva, and the yearly injection called Reclast. If you read about the side effects of these drugs, it will scare you.

Some people have problems with simple dental procedures, like tooth extractions after years of taking these drugs. Severe jaw problems can also result from their use, although it seems to be more prevalent in women with other health issues, such as cancer. Other people have no problems whatsoever.

I took Fosimax for about five years and stopped taking it because it was so expensive, and because these drugs stay in your system for a long time. I began to question whether the benefits outweighed the risks. I decided there are better ways to help my old, skinny bones...with milk, cheese, yogurt and Calcium tablets.

I'm a few months older, but I think I will go with your plan.

Congratulations on winning the movie tickets! I've only won one so far on the AOL Moviefone Summer IWG, but last summer, I didn't win any, so I'm ahead!

Rec'd a pair of the Hanes Comfort Toe Seam socks today (after receiving the e-mail yesterday), but they are size 5-9 -the contest stated that they would only be sent in size 9-11EEK! My Niece's feet are larger than mine and Mom loves the Thorlo socks. Still, it's a win.

Good Luck to all!
Thanks Congrats to you too. I haven't won all the tickets on Moviefone only 2, have won on several different ones already used 4 and have the 6 left. I hope I get that size instead of the 9-11 I got that size last 2 times and kind of big for my feet. Only size 6 1/2 to 7 foot size. I just love the Hanes contests have won on almost all of them. Good Luck

Rec'd an e-mail that I won one of the weekly $10 GC's from the Coors Photo Voting portion of the Sweepstakes! There were over 1000 $10GC's given out, plus $25's and $50's for that week.
There is also a separate weekly giveaway for the photo portion.
I haven't seen anyone post in this forum that they won, but lots of Slickdealers have posted in the contest thread.

I took Boniva and lost 2 teeth and had terrible jaw pains. stopped it. I took evista and forget why i stopped - maybe leg pains. Dr. will check his notes on monday. this atelvia is the pits. will never take it again. wasted my money on 3 mos supply. BUT, I stopped for a year and my density test is terrible - lost a lot of bone in only one year. I cannot tolerate calcium tablets but will try again. i drink a lot of milk, eat cheese and yogurt. I forget why i stopped fosimax - i am hoping because when i took it it was a daily - they now have a weekly - just called the pharmacist - and it is cheap, now a generic. don't know what to do. don't want to get like my mother. the poor thing broke almost every bone in her body once if not twice. so upset. Apparently it DID NOT stay in my system because in one year i had so much additional bone loss when I stopped.

I forgot in my response - now that fosimax is cheaper should I try it again? it is a generic and only $10 per month. I was paying with coverage $120 for 3 mos for atelvia.I hope i stopped that years ago because i had to get up andhave no coffee or anything for an hour. i can do once a week but hated daily. did you have side effects with fosimax?
