RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Those are beautiful dogs.

Cindy, we went to Obama 2016 late this afternoon. It was great having the free ticket. It was very interesting. Kind of scary, too.

Big Grin Our local newspaper just did a story on a historical building that just changed hands. It was built in 1806 as a grist mill. Sometime during the 30's it was made into a tavern/hotel with nightly poker games held in the basement. It looks today much like it did when built, 2ft thick stone walls. This is my favorite part of the article.....

Along with the keys, Kiprislis was handed a ledger from the 1930s and was told he had to keep it updated when he bought the bar. Due to the hotel liquor license, he had to maintain the 10 hotel rooms located on the third floor even though a room had not been rented since the 1990s. Eventually Kiprislis changed the license and the old rooms are now used as storage.

The days when the rooms were rented brought out the darker side of the building's history. During the late part of the 20th century, the bar/hotel, open six days a week starting at 7 a.m., was known as the hangout for bikers and steel workers, says Annie Halvorsen, the pub manager.

"There used to be burnouts in the bar," says Kiprislis. "It was a rough place for awhile." Old locals that still frequent the pub aren't known for their stories.

"Some refuse to tell what actually went on in here during those times -- but that is when you know there is an even better story behind the place we know now," Halvorsen says.

LMAO "I" know what went on in there !!!nodnod
Gotta love the ole bar/clubhouses/etc./etc LOL But why are they calling it the darker side. Heck, That was the brighter side

free NFL Rally Towel from Tide

UPC and code in post #11

Won a bottle of Teas Tea $1.99 arv this morning. That's in keeping with this month's theme of only winning prizes $5 and under.

Lousy weekend
Friday-toilet stopped up-messy, then the phone charger stopped working-the wires had broken at the plug-new one coming via Ebay for $5.33 vs the $39.99 Target etc wanted.
Saturday, the car started rough-gurgling noise, louder than normal engine, steering was a little tight on the left-drove to the dealership(original) per the dealership, I should buy a new one rather than fix my 2001 Saturn L200 with 82k miles. Currently unemployed, so I am reeling. There is a recall out for my year and model car on the engine timing chain and I will call the hotline later this am, hopefully my car is one of the hundreds of thousands covered, BUT they gave me a long list of other things. They said the the steering is starting to go, but could be a while before I lose it-I only drove 3600 miles last year. When I start working, that will go up, but 1st I need a job-in the meantime, I try to only drive twice a week and stay local.

Glad to see the baby and dog pics and the jokes-I needed the smile.
Hope everyone's day goes well.
Remember to pray for Betty'C12s grand daughter Nicole and her surgery today.

Good Luck to all!

Oh Blondeey. You have been trying to get rid of stuff all these months and now you are getting more STUFF. Can you have a yard sale?
I went yesterday to the consignment shop and got rid of a lot of stuff. But, he is not ready to get rid of this yet. That is the hard part. He never understood why i saved worthless useless stuff and I finally parted with most of it last year and now he is going thru that. Very hard. I have a spare room filled with boxes that I have to ship to Washington to his children of memories. And that is hard as it is very expensive to ship from the E.Coast to the W.coast and it could break. A while set of crystal stemware to his daughter for instance. I will get thru this just hate a constant constant turmoil and clutter. I started so long ago to dehoard and now this again. EEK!
