It rained all day yesterday here, and that made it so much more of a pain to get the fire started....until I through a tire on there. Grin It's not something I would typically do, but I had a stump 3 feet across that needed to catch.
Did the tire stink? Sick

I don't know. I steer clear of that smoke. It was black smoke, but it didn't last long. I won't do it again because I don't want the residue in my soil or in my air, but I was all out of diesel fuel.

Very fast, and very hot. The only thing that is left behind is the is the metal inside of them. Keep in mind that surface temperatures of asphalt can get up to 150 degrees, and tires are designed to withstand that and the friction of the rubber with the road without melting. So when they do burn....they burn very hot.

Did the machine work?
Sadly, not as expected. Sadwalk

The good news is, it didn't burst into flames or even spark a lot. woot The bad news is, my cheapo meter (VMM) isn't reading any bias amperage where it should. Either my cheapo meter is no good (not so likely) or something isn't wired and working as it should (more likely.) I'll have to call the guy who supplied the boards tomorrow and ask him questions about it. I've found a couple of omissions in his documentation already.

The thought of which just made me understand precisely where the problem lies. I can't check the bias amperage at the fused power supplies, because the front end of the amplifier is using a different power supply. Doh!!! I need to check the bias amperage on that separate power supply. Thanks, Wiles-thread!! bounce

Not yet, that's a task best reserved for tomorrow evening, after work. Seriously, I just figured it out while writing that last post.
