Yuppers, that's what we prefer too. Hell I've started cutting out the Disney Channel for the kid. Unless it's Phenius and Ferb, I don't really turn on the Disney Channel because it's all tween and teen dramas. I've just started having him watch Nature or NOVA or Disney movies or Electric Company. I think I'm gonna have Phrozt get Bill Nye and Arthur for the kid to watch because I'm tired of him just vegging and not engaging his brain when watching TV. He's getting down to less than an hour a night which is great.
I'm not a big fan of Bill Nye right now. He's really on the attack against Christians lately because "they don't believe science" which I find completely false. I think science compliments Christianity and doesn't contradict it. It's only a very small portion of people that see them as contradictory, and it's no reason to bash a person's religion just because a small amount of them disagree with you. Stick to science, Bill. You're good at it.

Meh, it's $8.55/mo and a lot less hassle overall, from obtaining to playback.

That's one way of looking at it.
You could also look at it as him being on defense against the Texans and Kansans and such who are on the attack against teaching science in a science class. The Catholic church may agree with you, but the evangelicals are pretty vocal and politically active.

laugh out loud it hasn't been defensive. But it is ridiculous how many Christians get up in arms that they government schools won't teach what they want their kids to learn. They have a choice where and how their kids learn. If they don't like it, they shouldn't turn their kids over to the school system. There's always a choice. We didn't like way DS1 was treated on the bus. We didn't like how slowly the education moved in his school. We didn't like some of the curriculum he was required to learn. So we pulled him out. Now we can teach him science without teaching him the religion of science.
