That is a little much. I pay about a third of that. Stick Out Tongue (50x connections, encrypted, unlimited, ~3 years retention).

Not sure how newsgroups are still around. Everything is hosted from a server. Seems to me it would be quite easy to shut down that particular server.

Sucks demonoid is gone. They would always have a lot of random stuff even the great private trackers do not. Huge amounts of ebooks and howard stern ondemand videos. Also loved the garmin downloads. Not to mention some really specific software you can find no where else.

Not sure how much you download a month. When I first started with newsgroups I paid a monthly fee so I could download everything I wanted. Which was a couple terabytes of data. Now that I'm caught up with everything I wanted, I dropped the monthly subscription and paid a flat fee of $40 for 1 terabyte of downloading. Unlimited bandwidth, all that good stuff, just saves me a lot of money in the long run.
