To enter contest, submit an online essay of 50-250 words nominating your school as a "community hero" (must be an accredited public or private elementary school, middle or high school). Free code online for the sweepstakes. Ends September 23, 2012 @ 11:59pm CT
Contest Prize: (3 winners) $10,000 check or wire transfer, payable to winning School.
Sweepstakes Prize: (50 winners) $500 Apple gift card
Limit one sweepstakes prize per household

JUDGING TO DETERMINE ESSAY CONTEST PRIZE WINNERS
(Applicable to Essay Contest component of Promotion only): After the conclusion of the Promotion Period, all eligible Contest Entries received will be judged preliminarily by Administrator and subsequently by a panel of representatives of the Sponsor determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Judging of the Essay Contest. Contest Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
34% Creativity/Originality
33% Perceived Impact School has/had on Community
33% Quality of Submission (Did the Essay provide detail?)
The Schools nominated within the Contest Entries receiving the top three (3) highest cumulative point totals for all criteria combined as determined by the judges will be declared the potential Contest Prize winning Schools. In case of a tie, tied Contest Entries will be broken by Contest Entry with highest cumulative point score in Creativity/Originality. If tie continues, then ties will be broken by Contest Entry with highest cumulative point score in the Perceived Impact School has/had on Community criteria. If tie continues, then ties will be broken by Contest Entry with the highest cumulative point score in the Quality of Submission criteria. If tie cannot be broken, tied Contest Entries will be evaluated by a new judge according to original criteria, and tied Contest Entry with highest cumulative score by new judge will be declared winner of the tie.
