RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

I got an email yesterday:

"We are happy to inform you that you have been selected as a potential winner of the CHEVRON DRIVE AND GO SEEK SWEEPSTAKES that includes a prize package of a $50 USD Chevron Promotional Card, a Chevron Toy Car, and a Yelp Gift Bag."

My sister's going to be thrilled. Another gas card. But this time, she's only getting $25 worth. I'm going to Chevron's food mart and buying $25 of Twinkies. They have a shelf life of like 250 years, so I'll save them for the next emergency. Oh, all right, I'm kidding. She'll get the whole thing. I'll keep the next Visa card, though.

That is strange. Congratulations on the win, but notarized for a $50 prize? EEK! Maybe they're hoping people won't bother with the hassle and they'll get to keep their money. Like I said -- strange. nod
I won a $10 gc for dollar general from some contest and they wanted a paper notiorized and a copy of my DL. I threw it away, it expired before I even had a chance, but never would have anyway. Ridiculous!

Congrats! You're probably right about a twinkie's shelf life! LMAO

Good afternoon! Though it still feels like morning. I am weary of birthday parties, been to 3 in the past 2 weeks and have to travel to Houston this week for another. Gets hard on the pocketbook!
Congrats to all who have been winning! I haven't had much time to play but did receive this email:

Thank you for participating in the Margaritaville® Brand's "Mixed Drink Maker" sweepstakes.

Congrats! You have been randomly selected as one of our weekly prize winners. The prize you have won is a pair of Margaritaville® Hemisphere Sunglasses!

This prize has an Approximate Retail Value of $80.

Your prize will be delivered to the address used on the sweepstakes entry form and should arrive in the next 2-4 weeks.

Thank you again for your participation and congratulations on behalf of Jarden Consumer Solutions.

Fins Up!

The Margaritaville® Brand Team

Which was a pleasant surprise, and then I received them on Saturday! That's the 2nd pair I've won, this pair is gold and the other silver, but very nice.

My daughter had her 1st drs appt.last week since learning she is expecting. She feels like she's in good hands, but it's still a high risk situation. Apparently we'll know more at 20 weeks (she is 10 weeks), at this time the placenta plants into the utuerus, if it implants on a good healthy part we can relax a lot more. If not, she could bleed out at delivery....so please pray and think positive thoughts for her, thank you!

Hope you all are doing good, missed hanging out!
Hi K wave Congrats again LOL

I don't mind contracts, I figure I'm gonna have it from whoever anyway. Keep checking all yer options and what ya want to pay, Consider 5m over 1.5m if ya can. I'm excited for ya. I can't wait for your reaction when ya get it. And hurry up so I don't have to go all aggressive again. LMAO

OK, Here's the scoop and ya know I am not good with short stories.

I got a plan. I called back to CLink, the 1st guy gave me higher prices than the girl this morning. So I asked him why, and he said unfortunately I can't get that price. So he sent me to the "retention" manager or something like that. Here's what I ended up with

$39.99 for up to 10 mbps.
Did take the 1 year contract, cause his was a 20$ difference in the price. And I will be able to keep this price after the 1 year IF I remember to call back in just before it's over. Otherwise it goes up to 59.99 a month.

We did talk the modem I just got the other day, it will NOT work for this.
I could buy my own or a one time charge and buy theirs. I would have liked to go buy my own, except if I don't buy theirs, they won't give me support, they would just refer me to the manufacturer.

So I have 1 time charge of 29.95 plus 14.95$ Shipping.

That's with getting rid of my regular home phone. It usually run about 34$ month , so only a difference of about $6 a month(plus the one time modem charge)

Thinking I didn't do too bad.........but won't be here till Thursday.
What do youns think?
