Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

I got up and cooked myself some toast and eggs and set it on the table while I used the bathroom. I come back and there is my puppy, Junior, eating my breakfast.

We had no luck with stuffed animals either. Just way too rippy.

Best dog toy ever http://www.petsmart.com/product/i...source=cse

Sophie chewed up the treats that come with it in no time flat...but she loves playing with the toy. She hasn't managed to damage it at all and you can stuff inexpensive dog biscuits into the middle of it that take a long time for the dog to figure out how to get at.

We are busy remodeling the kitchen, and I guess no one was watching as Bear escaped to roam freely through the house. He ended up eating both of the kitties *full* bowls of food. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

We're guilty of the same... but it is sometimes good to not confuse your dog with too many toys. They can identify what is OK to chew when it's only one or two objects instead of dozens.

Oscar had hot dog bits last night.... we just started him, or me rather, in obedience class.

This morning she walked in the back door with a dead mourning dove in her mouth, still bleeding. She looked all casual like she had a stick or something. Bad dog.
