Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

This morning she walked in the back door with a dead mouring dove in her mouth, still bleeding. She looked all casual like she had a stick or something. Bad dog.
Yikes! Oscar loves to chase... but I don't think he's come close to catching anything. laugh out loud

Frown Awww, poor bunny
Do people ever "bell" dogs like they do with outside cats? Sophie is so quiet when she sneaks up on birds and squirrels--not a sound.

Friend of mine had this problem with her puppy and expensive socks. When they came out whole she'd wash them in hot water and reuse them vomit Guess you wouldn't want to do that in this case Smilie
What my dog ate today: cow poop. And she wallowed in cow pee and mud. She spread out all relaxed in this giant puddle of it like she was at the spa. *Sigh*
