Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)
1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)
2. Hard-to-destroy stuff
-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)
- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)
- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
- Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
- Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
- Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
- Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

Darn dog went in his crate for awhile. He did go in with his tail wagging though. Little big s#*t!
I'm just back from a trip. I hear that while I was gone, my dog ate:
- a pen/highlighter combo
-Antiques Magazine
-photo scrapbook cover
The days she didn't chew stuff up, she dragged things out that she could have chewed, like a sleeping bag from under the bed that she got out but thank goodness didn't eat...or a box of bookmarks off a bedside table that ended up in the middle of the floor.
I think she was upset that I was gone
also any pencil she can find is eaten
Later he stole a rawhide from the dog that lives behind us. Again....
This week my dog ate:
-a black pen
-a 50 free prints Snapfish card
-my husband's microscope cover
Bad dog.
There was one hillarious moment when he ran past with a Pooh Bear in his mouth. He was closely followed buy a crying 2 year old screaming something that kinda sounded like "Bad Doggy" over and over...
After that ordeal.. which ended at 11 AM.. I drank some beers... he had a few Milkbones for being a good boy and not biting the three year old that bit him.. Then a Rawhide.. cause it was a rough day...
My dog is in trouble with my husband today. She ate his day planner.

Somehow, Gus broke a claw yesterday.. he was favoring it last night.. Yelped if he put weight on the paw or if I touched it. The vet had to sedate him.. plus anti-biotics and all that fun stufff... Anyway.. I am flat broke...

Maybe he needs to wear a sock on it for awhile. Sophie was willing to wear an athletic sock taped around her paw when she had a ripped toe pad that we were trying to keep clean. She was funny. She'd pull it off once in awhile and walk normally. When we put it back on her she'd limp around looking like a sad drama queen and beg for treats and pets. I do think it helped keep the germs out and helped her get better sooner.
Sending wishes for a full recovery for Gus and your wallet.
Sure it was all expensive.. but he is worth it.. and.. The women at the vet's office were all smoking hot... and I am looking forward to his follow up visit..
He is limping around.. looking well cute as hell.. I think he is going to gain some weight from all the treats... The neighbor lady dropped of a big ol get well rawhide bone to keep him busy...
My husband took the dogs in for vaccinations that ate up our checkbook today too. Hopefully he did not find the same silver lining you did
