Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

Awww......fostering dogs, are we now? What ever happened to the cuteness nearby?
Wave Hi HD! Been helping to foster puppies/dogs & cats/kittens for about a year now. Few of them had pictures posted here. My 2 kittens were my first fosters. laugh out loud Fail! Kept them both.

Aw! The cuteness next door. Weeping His owner moved to Hawaii, (dad still lives there) and he sent the dog to his mom's to live in Riverside. Crying2 I can't tell you how much I miss him sneaking over at all hours of the day and scratching on my door to say, "Can you play? Huh?! Huh?!" Thanks for asking about him! Happy

Oh, and I imagine the high $105 fee for shaving the cat is for the trouble! laugh out loud Can you imagine trying to shave a cat? EEK! Roll

Puppies to arrive on Thursday! I am so Woot.

I see Daisee wants the lab for Bear! Whee I'll post pics later this week or weekend.

A phone book...
I walked across the street to the mailbox and pick up the new phone book off the ground. I walk back up the drive and Gus snags the yellow bag the phone book came to out of my hand. He ran to the back yard, he swung it back and forth, I thought he was going to knock himself out. He made a hole, and the book flew out on the third or fourth run around the yard. He the abandoned the bag and picked up the book. After running around with it for a bit, he drops it. The wind caught a page and it blew up... Gus freaked and ripped it out, and it blew away in the wind. He most have thought this was an AWESOME game, cause he did it a few more times.
We purposely use phone books as chew toys for our rabbits. I know if my collie got one she'd swallow it! Both our dogs raid the recycling bin and chew up ads and envelopes.

So I wanted a cigarette but couldn't find my lighter. Went into the other room and my dog was chewing on it.

we have been trying to convince Tails to sleep in his "big boy bed" instead of ours (he likes to stretch and he is one long dog...) He usually sleeps in it for about 3 hours before coming into bed and snuggling with us.

Woke up this morning, Tails in bed with us. Start getting ready, check Tails' side of the bed... chewed up a pair of boxers before joining us in bed. I've been telling my man to pick up his laundry.....

Well, this week she helped herself to a glue stick. She found a bottle of grout sealer who knows where but did not eat it, just carried it off to her lair. She pulled some socks out of the dresser drawer and licked them till they were soaked. She ate half a bulletin. And she took the grease catcher cup from the grill and put it on our bed. Other than that she has been great this week.

Happy bday to Bear!!

While I was at work and the man was at home sick, Tails managed to eat the last of the Christmas mint chocolates I had sitting out on the table... then pooped all over.

For once, glad I was at work. Although, if I had been home, it never would have happened.

If your gf's panties almost killed the dog, she might want to see a doctor about that. EEK!

My glasses. I haven't even had them for an entire week, but there they were this morning, on the floor, one lens cracked, the other severely scratched all inside a mangled frame. That's $150 out the door.
