Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

My glasses. I haven't even had them for an entire week, but there they were this morning, on the floor, one lens cracked, the other severely scratched all inside a mangled frame. That's $150 out the door.
try this, I loved zinna or whatever the website is called. I think I paid 55 out the door including shipping. I love my glasses and get tons of compliments on them too!

Thanks for the web site info. I'm bookmarking for next time I need glasses myself (here's hoping it won't be b/c my dog ate my current pair). Smilie

Today my dog got a new toy. She can't figure out how to get the treats out of this one yet. She may quite possibly go insane by bedtime.

And also, I just read this great chapter in Temple Grandin's "Animals Make Us Human" about understanding dogs. Highly recommended.

My dog didn't eat anything today, but I wanted to post a picture of him! He once ate a stuffed lion, and pulled out the stuffing ALL OVER my house. It looked like it had snowed.

A trash bag of pop cans.... well just the middles of them. Then he ate/destroyed 3 packs of jumbo diapers. He was so funny. He would carry around a beer bottle - hitting it on everything in the house. This was a while ago. Needless to say, he didn't make it. The pop cans were what did him in. Miss ya Duke. Crying2

Oscar's been acting very odd for about a week now. Took me a while to figure out why. We've let the wood stove go out and we're heating with the baseboard heat. The *click click creak* of the heating/cooling of the baseboards freaks him out. Crazy
