So what is your opinion on this phone then? Clearly, as an unbiased fan of technology...you will have to admit it is INCREDIBLY ho-hum...nothing new, nothing innovative, nothing worth while in the slightest...EXCEPT for the fact it will feature an Apple logo on the back and a high price tag and thus sell millions.

"But it is super small and thin" ==> so you can put a cover on it and make it super thick and bulky..?

Also, just found this helpful, no idea why they put BB on there though:

Don't want an iPhone/own one/own stock in Apple? No use bitching about it because your opinion largely doesn't matter if you're not going to become an apple customer anyway.
Just because u own 1 piece of hardware doesn't mean you can't be a fanboy. I own 1 Windows phone comparing to 3-4 android devices and I promote WP more so than Android. And yeah, all your posts throughout this thread sounds more like an Apple fanboy than anything. If you think the iphone 5 is so good, why are you so insecure about others having an opinion about it?

having an iPhone and I can see Curtie's POV.

The best analogy is going from iPad 2 to new iPad. Retina screen and faster processor but is it something we have not seen before? Software wise, I admit, there are some cool stuff there.

Anyone know if AT&T will allow those on the grandfathered unlimited data plan to still maintain that plan with an iPhone 5?

So because I have a differing opinion, I'm insecure about other's opinions? Really?

As good or better than other smartphones currently on the market, when coupled with iOS software. Hardware wise, much is mostly similar, the same with plenty of other systems such as PC/Mac hardware. A lot comes down to the software.

My guess is once you upgrade the phone, the unlimited data plan will be history and you will get the new bundled plans.

No, u telling others to post their opinions elsewhere is what show how insecure you are about the iphone 5

laugh out loud If they do what they did last year, it would start at 12AM PDT on the 14th.
it says 8am but no time zone listed but i believe since they are -8 gmt that would make it 8am in gmt so an 8am start for the world? does that logic fly

Yawn I told them bitching about a product you don't want and won't want anyway isn't going to matter. Unless you have a vested interest, what's the point? Dontknow

good of them to upgrade to a 4" screen. nothing revolutionary after that, but it should get a lot of users. a lot of people i know who love their iPhone still complained that their screen sizes were too small.

the 1,440mAh battery is a little troubling, though. they can give "estimated" usage times for various activities, but anyone who has followed mobile devices for any length of time knows those are dubious at best. everyone i know who has a 4 or 4S has to charge it a lot, with the power users having to plug it in twice or more a day. with a larger screen, LTE connectivity, and less than a 1% increase in battery capacity over the 4S, it'll be interesting to see what real-world usage numbers look like.

unfortunately, software comes down to preference. you can't say that iOS is innately better than Android or Windows Mobile because everyone uses it differently and values different features. if someone doesn't have a preference between OSs (a real possibility since both are so developed/intuitive at this point), this phone really is mediocre-to-OK when compared to the rest of the offerings in the mobile phone market.

Maybe I just like to complain.

That does beg the question of whether or not they'd have been better off not making it thinner, and instead beefing up the battery.

What is 1 spec that is better on the iPhone than any of the other phones listed in that picture? It has a higher PPI than the two phones that are 0.7" and 0.8" bigger...that is about it.

yes...it has Bluetooth 4.0, that is new and top of the line. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic), and it comes decently close to matching other stats, but one of the things Apple has always lead the way with was battery life. 8 Hrs? really? Nokia is 10 hrs of run time. And 240 for standby? Seriously? The 920 is spec'd for 400 hrs. I am not sure of the batt stats on Sammy and HTC.

It is small, yes, it is the smallest 4.0" phone you will see available...but are we still going with the "A human's thumb can't comfortably use a phone larger than 3.5"...are we still going there?
