Yep - it sucks that they usually MAKE you take a tour first and ask you a million questions.
They show you the locker rooms, gym, racquetball, basketball, pool etc. (Takes usually about 25 minutes if you press the issue).
Then after that they sit you down with a "rep" which is really just a sales person and tries to negotiate until you agree to join.
They are JUST like a used car salesman so be prepared!
It was a very nice gym - I got fed up and just built my own. Got tired of driving 10 minutes there, 10 minutes back and then having to wait for machine between 5-8 pm.
So now I can work out in my basement with 90% of the stuff and in 1/3 the time!
If you were going to sign up - it's worth it though!
Or you can just use the free month every single months - and go to 2-3 other gyms and repeat the same process. That way you might only have to pay once or twice a year when you run out of free trials.

I'm going to check out LA Fit as it just opened a few blocks away from me.
Need to hit some stuff I can't hit at the home gym.

if they ask for your credit card, walk away. they will charge you random shiet and once you give a gym your money, they won't give it back.
