I am tired of all of these bandwagon PBS fans.

All I see is a bunch of retards pretending to be PBS viewers because Mitt Romney doesn't like PBS and wants to get rid of the CPB.

Seriously, fark the whole lot of them. I hope they all die choking on ham sandwiches.

I hate the all of the people who are part of the new PBS is cool, and I am also cool because I watch PBS trend. The old viewers, the ones who are loyal viewers are the ones that I have real respect for.

These people, the new fans are no different than the people who didn't care for/hated America before 9/11 and suddenly became neocons right after the towers were brought down.

And just so you know, I watch the newshour ever night, and most of the their primetime programs. I've got much love for my local PBS and NPR stations even though they have tried to censor programming and love to pimp the catholic church on their channels.

How come the left is going so crazy defending Big Bird in the first place. The guy in the suit makes $314,00/year. That would make him an evil member of the 1% wouldn't it?

Time for an Occupy Sesame Street movement I would think.

Strange how when Romney's words go through the filter of your thought process they come out the other end in such a liberal fashion.
Maybe it was due to the fact that I only saw an edited clip of the video and didn't see it through its entirety. I just saw the video at the part around where he talked about the 47%. As far as the liberal fashion, I don't know. I grew up in a family of Republicans and always voted Republican in the past up until recently.

I think my views are somewhere between Republican and Democratic views.....I guess you can say I'm a cross between a moderate Republican and a right-wing liberal?Wink I would probably be fully Republican but I just can't get past the Republican's seemingly recent preoccupation with anti-gay, anti-stem cell, anti-abortion, and anti-immigration sentiments. It's so scary to me. I wonder if I was too young to realize it but when did the Republican party become so Christian in values?!?!?!

Wouldn't that translate to a rich guy who thinks the government can spend his money more wisely than he can? laugh out loud

Or, maybe a middle income person with a conscience who believes the government shouldn't dictate religious values onto its citizens when the country was supposedly based on Freedom of Religion.......at least, that's what I learned in school.Wink

Anti-abortion....I can understand since it's a life issue. So, religion isn't solely the underlying argument. But, with anti-gay marriage, it's just horrible. Why should Republicans and the government care if two ppl (who they probably don't know) want to be married. And, why should the argument against gay marriage be because the Bible says marriage is between a man and a woman. What if I'm not Christian?

Because education should trump a drop in the bucket of the budget. Cut one or two planes from the military and you've recovered more than you ever could by cutting PBS.

The federal government shouldn't be in the marriage business at all if it comes down to that. Get rid of any benefits and penalties for marriage altogether and let marriage be what it should be--a decision based on the individuals' faith and personal beliefs.

That's fine too if we were only talking about tax benefits. But, I think pro-gay marriage ppl are concerned with other rights that is usually afforded to married couples like when one spouse passes away. The estate or retirement benefits can transfer automatically to the surviving spouse.

Why should the federal government be involved in education in the first place? I don't recall that being one of the enumerated powers in the Constitution.

The amount is irrelevant except to liberals who need an emotional appeal to make an argument. It's about whether it should or shouldn't be funded by the federal government.

Is it really that big of a burden to make a will?

Are you being serious or just trying to be Devil's advocate? You really don't think the government should have a role in educating its young citizens who will grow up to manage the country?

Is it really that much of a burden to Christian ppl to have two random ppl who they don't know, may never know, and who probably lives hundreds or thousands of miles from them be married? Does it really affect those Christian ppl that much where they believe the government shouldn't allow such unions?

Remember, it wasn't all that long ago when religious ppl thought marriage between different ethicities was sacriligious and unnatural.

The federal government? Of course not.
The individual states are in a far better position to make decisions regarding the education of the children in the state. How can the federal government make unilateral decisions that will fit and make sense everywhere?

You want to trim some real fat from the budget? Eliminate the US Department of Education and give all that money back to the states to use in a more efficient manner for education.
