Well I was referring to using a gun with smaller ammo size and rifle ammo travels much further than a shotgun slug. So I was talking about killing a deer from like 100 yds. away or some farther distance where a shotgun would not be accurate as opposed to with a scope hunting.

Where did you get the better shot of a rifle over shotgun bit from?

Oh. I read it as the rifle requiring more accuracy, which at longer ranges I would disagree with. A shotgun with a slug is also perfectly viable @ 100 yards.
