Ok im gonna do it...do not try to talk me out of it! ( buying new car)

After many years of hoopdie cars..I'm going to get a new one...that last 400 dollar radiator did me in on my little car...and with a soon to be 2xxlb 6 foot tall son and a BF its time to get a larger nicer car....I've been driving a 87 crx...so I need more room!

Hondas are my first choice...

I narrowed it to the 2012 EXL 2.4 i owned a 01 with leather and dang it I want that again...moonroof I can do without..but I like the alloy wheels and it does get decent gas mileage

Found one at the dealer with 62xx miles..they wanted 25909..also comes with 100000 honda certified warranty.

Kbb trade in is 21818..,no problems with carfax..and it was sold originally by this dealer and stayed pretty much in this area its been at dealer for about a month...

I have financing at 4.73 with 84 months if over 20000 dollars..I am going to look into refinancing in the future at lower rate. I also get 90 day delay on first payment...

I also average 7000 mi a year..I've been renting cars for out of town trips..family is about 5 hr drive...I see them about 3 to 4 times a year...but I'm thinking more now with newer wheels!

I am ready for pros and cons! I am planning on running this to 200000 miles or more!

Oh and where is the car advice thread? I need to rehearse and get ready to deal with dealer...

Maybe consider a Chrysler 300? They redesigned in 2011 and my 2012 is running perfectly. 33 MPG with a 295 HP V6. It's ridiculously fast if I need it to be, fully decked out with safety features and has the comfort level of a Lexus, for a lot less.

Spoken like a person who has never actually driven something that is "ridiculously fast". Very nice cars, but not fast.

Ok my first offer...19900 for a 2012 honda exl sedan 2.4 listed for 25900. this is the one that has about 6000 miles on it. The reply was that they have more into it and has the Honda certified warranty (100000 miles or 7 years)and he will take 23500. I said thank you for your time.

For street use, it is ridiculously fast. Context man, context.

Let me put it to you this way. With the car fully loaded with adults and cargo, I could get on an on-ramp and reach criminal (to AZ, >85 MPH) speeds before the end of the ramp. I have excess passing power going up hills fully loaded and at full 75 MPH highway speed as well. So, in the sense of what you'd need in any regular street use, it's ridiculously fast.

Glad we decided on a scientific unit of measurement. Not saying it is a bad car at all, but a lot of cars fall into that category. Not to mention OP is looking to get something ~$20k.

I started with "ridiculous" which isn't scientific at all. So why did you bother to dispute that?

I was thinking of a used 2012 base 300. Depends on area, but since they're had about $28k brand new, an early 2012 model could conceivably be ~$20k in the OP's area.

I think you will pay a premium for the Honda brand. Private, single owner may be your best bet to getting a Honda at a reasonable price. I think there is some great info in the car buying thread. I know you have your heart set on a Honda but I think you may get more bang for your buck with other vehicles.

FYI, I would call your insurance company and get some rates on the cars you are considering. You would be surprised the vast difference between insurance on similar types of vehicles.

Which transmission does this come with the old one or the new re-designed one? I'd get the new one with more gears and better tech.

It comes with the German 8-speed. It's buttery smooth and very responsive, and plays no small part in getting 33 MPG out of that V6.
