yeah for Fall Whee It's 90 degrees with 100% humidity.....where the frak is Fall?!!?!?! My hair has been in a ponytail every day for 3 weeks. The weather has sucked. I am so ready for air that is so dry, my hair stands on end with static cling-bring it on!!! Annoyed

Hubby just sent me an email. His work is collecting for the troops again (they do it every year - about 2 times)

Anyway, here's a list of the things they need:

These are the items the troops actually need: single serving microwaveable foods, travel pak toliet paper, pocket size hand sanitizer, AA & AAA batteries, gatorade mix packets, baby wipes, sunscreen, chapstick, toothbrushes, trial size toothpaste, gum. (NO CHOCOLATE) Also, it is very important to hand out old shoes and soccer balls to the children. The troops inflate them after they arrive. These items portray our soldiers as giving and good. (These items can also prevent children suicide bombings and save a soldiers life!)

I've got some velveeta/kraft singles cups that I'll send, and I'm going to try to get as many Dentyne bogo's as possible so that I can stock up on the gum. Any suggestions on the other stuff and coupon matchups or where the deals are? I have a Target, Walmart, and Kroger to shop at if that helps. Thanks!!

EEK! If any of you have kids with cell phones.. TAKE OFF TEXTING! My daughters friends mom called a friend of ours saying she got a text from my DD that was talking about killing and very satanic. We had it fowarded to us and its a "chain" text... and it was HORRIBLE! I know who my DD got it from because I looked my account online with verizon and it came from a friend who I have never heard of before. It is a chain that says if you dont foward to 15ppl within 20minutes some guy will come to you in your sleep and kill you EEK!

OMG that is one of the worst texts that has gone around. This is terrifying kids around the country! This particular message was a feature on the Today Show or one of those morning shows and the fallout is just unbelieveable. PERSONALLY, I don't think that eliminating texts in the answer. Social networks are here to stay and I think the best approach is to educate the kids and warn them that this particular message is in circulation and that it is in no way a REAL threat to them. Further, they should be advised, not just once, but frequently, that they should absolutely not pass it along and to tell their parent or other trusted adult. My son and I talk about this stuff all the time and he has come to me on more than one occassion with various different things. Communication is so important. When you think about it, predators are communicating with our children. We need to be communicating with them as well, only our voice and our message needs to be louder. Ok, off my Soap Box. This crap scares the hell out of me.

I agree with Pags. Mini got that text months ago and she and her BFF were talking about it. They knew it was a stupy fake text but both agreed that the part about getting killed in ypur sleep was way over the top and said what if younger kids got it. Mini knows the rule. No forwarding spam texts and NO responding to texts from people you don't know. Also, random spot checks of her text history. She had it easy with DH and I my mom makes her turn off the phn during homework and dinner so she may have 45 mins a night for her cell phn which is her lifeline to friends back here in Cali.

Thanks! My DD went and deleted ALL her texts! She deletes them all the time.. which scares me because if its something she is deleting, then obviously she doesnt want us to see! This is the first I have heard about this text chain thing. I did call the school because I have no idea who this girl is that fowarded to my DD. I want that girls mom to be aware! I was STUNNED to find out what my DD was sending/receiving!! EEK! Well she lost her phone for now anyway. she was told NO texting and she has sent/received 87 in the past 2 weeks!

IMO just bc she is erasing them, does not mean they are bad. I used to be a VERY private teen... wouldnt even want them to know what kind of ice cream i had when i went out... just an independence thing, or i least that is what I was thinking... Trust her a little, trust that you taught her well and that hopefully next time, she now knows to come to you with things like that. hug

I am finally back online! Whee we had a computer meltdown so I have been offline for about three months I think. Just long enough I feel like a Target noob again! I am trying to catch up but so much doesn't make sense. Looks like the new TQ's kinda suck.

I have shopped at Target while MIA but it has felt so strange, like I'm shopping in the dark and missing the best deals. It's great to be back. hug Can't wait to get back into the swing of things.

Shopped a Kmart once and had to leave the cart. Qs are mucho different there!!
