As for the texting stuff...
Ugh. I have a prepaid cell phone, so does hubby, and we rarely use them. We don't allow DD to have a phone - she really doesn't have a need. There have been 1-2 times we've given her one of the phones when it was possible she wouldn't have access to another one if she needed to get ahold of us, but 99% of the time - she's with one of us anyways.
I've had friends who's kids got into the texting nude pics of each other/strangers back and forth, inappropriate text messages, threats, and hateful things about parents and siblings, etc... There's something about technology like this that depersonalizes things and makes people feel safe to do things like that. It's so bizzarre.
The other problem is facebook, myspace, chats, emails, etc... The same kind of things can happen there.
DD does have a facebook account and an email account. We have access to them 24/7. Additionally, our 2 computers are in the living room - not behind any closed doors. I know that some folks think we are crazy, but we've seen too much (and had enough of our own weirdos to deal with) to warrant doing otherwise.
We have lots of discussion about appropriate and inappropriate communication and behaviors, about coming to parents when inappropriate things happen, etc... Sometimes that works with kids, sometimes kids still don't tell an adult when things are funky. We work hard to keep an open relationship, but also realize that kids sometimes just don't come to their parents, and we help curb the temptation to be secretive by making it an open access policy.
We consider these things to be privileges and not necessary to survival, so we are strict on their usage because of how they are abused. We are trying to teach her proper usage of the technology and the responsiblity that goes with it (which is why we don't completely outlaw access) so that when the day comes that she is unsupervised that she will make responsible and appropriate choices. We may allow cell phones someday, but there's no need now. But... that's just us.
It's so hard to protect the purity of our children!

Things I noticed:
I read that someone had all their items with TQs grouped together. This was not the case. Only package deals were the items w/ $1/2 TQs.
No cpns showed $0.00 on either screen.
Had no issues w/ using multiple TQs stacked on BOGO MQs
For some reason, I thought someone said TQs were being adjusted down to avoid overage when combined w/ MQ. This was not the case with Chef Michaels.
No issues with any of my MQs. Except for these damn $2 Avent pacifier peelies that were on same product. Needed K1. Barcodes matched
Perhaps the modifications are getting rolled out in groups.

Anyway, here's a list of the things they need:
These are the items the troops actually need: single serving microwaveable foods, travel pak toliet paper, pocket size hand sanitizer, AA & AAA batteries, gatorade mix packets, baby wipes, sunscreen, chapstick, toothbrushes, trial size toothpaste, gum. (NO CHOCOLATE) Also, it is very important to hand out old shoes and soccer balls to the children. The troops inflate them after they arrive. These items portray our soldiers as giving and good. (These items can also prevent children suicide bombings and save a soldiers life!)
I've got some velveeta/kraft singles cups that I'll send, and I'm going to try to get as many Dentyne bogo's as possible so that I can stock up on the gum. Any suggestions on the other stuff and coupon matchups or where the deals are? I have a Target, Walmart, and Kroger to shop at if that helps. Thanks!!
