Target Chit Chat

This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

New changes that they rolled out overnight. I'm not fond of them either (I'm not so good with change).
Not fond here either. Most of the updates I like, but the screen that pops up when you give reps is really irritating. Wonder if there's an option to turn it off. After you read it the first 10 times, you really don't need to see it again.

Long time no talk Target friends!!

Things have been pretty rough lately in my life. I haven't been to target in months. Frown I'm hoping to start up again soon. I have a job interview on Friday and I am really nervous!!!

I hope everyone is doing great!!
Wave hope things look up for you soon. Good luck on the interview.

Thanks everyone...DS' fever is still holding at 105 on Motrin. We ended up getting the Tamiflu...I figured he was still within the 48 hour window and if it helps alleviate some of his symptoms then it was worth it.
But now the 3 yo's fever is back! Sadwalk
wow, you really have your hands full. Sending good thoughts your way in hopes that you don't get it too!

We're off to take a haunted jail tour tonight. It's an old jail from 1802, used for pirates and civil war prisoners, among others. I hope it's just a tour and no one will be jumping from behind walls, unless it's Johnny Depp Stick Out Tongue

Well, the 3 yo seems ok...he says his throat hurts though and is still pale/won't eat, but that's not uncommon for him, so who knows.
The Tamiflu thing was a debacle b/c they haven't entered my insurance info yet at my new job, so I am not on record for health or rx insurance. Ended up paying $116 for the Tamiflu and will get that back when I have them resubmit. I did get a $25 gift card from it. My new rx insurance is CVS/Caremark and I filled at CVS, so I better not get any trouble.

wave I work in the pharmacy at CVS, as long as you had coverage for today's date they shouldn't give you a hard time. Also they can only resubmit it within 30 days, so keep on top of your employer to get you entered!

Same here. Now I have to go through and change the page I have bookmarked. Ugh.

Quote from sbhiggins :
This sounds like what we went through to a T. Andreas didn't start really "napping" until after 2 months and then only b/c I "forced" the issue. It took months of working w/him to get it down and even now we still have rough days.
This made me laugh. My mom calls me the "nap nazi". I guess you could say I forced the issue also!!!

Quote from Thrifty-n-SoCal :
I have not encountered this but whether the register is to the front or the back of the counter my cashiers have met my friend Otto looking at him straight in the eye and don't mind him much. I guess my friend isn't much to look at. Although I have had some tell me that Otto really Rocks
Good to know. I didn't have the time or energy for a run but those displays scared the shitake mushrooms out of me!

Youe son is 3 right? Did he do good in the movies? We are planning on going on Wednesday night, but am a little nerveous about taking my 4 yr old. The last movie we tried at the theater was Monster's vs Aliens and I spent over half the movie in the bathroom or the hallway. So disappointing since I actually paid for that movie...we were on vacation and decided to do it as a treat. Ha! No treat for mom I guess, he loved running in the hallway though.
Yep, he is 3. This is the 1st 3D movie I've done with him and I only took him because he LOVES Toy Story 1 and 2 (or blue Buzz and red Buzz as the DVDs are known at our house). We also didn't pay for it Secret peelie badger so I figured it wasn't a huge loss if we ended up leaving early.

Quote from ank220 :
I thought that was standard at all T's - even my broke down T has a screen above the scanner. Some cashiers don't look, some always look, and some scan with the gun anyways.
Oh no, no, no. This was something I had never seen before. I am really surprised that T would actually put the screens there. It seems like it makes it very hard for the cashiers to interact with the "guests" since their faces are hidden by the display. Totally bizarre. Glad the ones like me aren't like that.

Multiquote doesn't seem to work...Dec12Girl is going to be Mad

Anyways, my CVS told me 7 days! But HR told me my stuff should be in on Monday (and I sent back an email with my sob story to make her feel worse for not entering it already), so I hope it will be taken care of by the mid-end of the week.

Mofome - Sorry to hear about your kids - that bites!!

Thrifty - So sorry to hear that you're a walking zombie! Maybe Vodkaberry for the little one???

I know this isn't the KM thread but I wanted to share with you guys here - I went to KM today specifically to pick up the flyers with the $3/5 Quaker Coupon in it Secret coded for $3/2. Wasn't in the mood to "shop" so I just did a walk-around. Found men's denim shorts clearanced for $2.99 so I bought two for DS but they rang up $1.99. I needed a filler to use my $5.00 Glade cat LMAO !!

Thanks ladies I don't feel so bad for putting him on his tummy from time to time. I am a stomach sleeper. Poor LJ knows this as I still tried to sleep on my tummy at 38 weeks prego Teehee

Quote from plgffl :
Thrifty- You made me cry today Frown I'm sending them back too, so please take them back, well you have no choiceStick Out Tongue . Seriously though, you are so sweet for words hug

I'm going to chime in here. My DD has ALWAYS slept on her stomach. She rolled very easily (less than 2 weeks, will have to look at her baby book) and it was impossible keeping her on her back. That was some of the best sleep she has ever done and even now, she sleeps on her stomach still. I don't really see what is entirely wrong with it, but that is my opinion. Our parents did so many things and we lived, right? It does depend on comfort level. I used to flip dd constantly, but eventually gave up. She was happier, I was happier, it all worked out.
Oh no, what did I do to make you cry?

We did stomach sleep and he is even balking at this. Swaddled him, plugged him with his nuk and rocked him for every nap today. He fought but he went down with less of a fight. Now getting him to stay asleep when I put him down is a different story. He often woke up right away when he was put down. His average nap time today was 30-45 mins. Hey that is progress from the 5-10 min naps this past week.

Quote from mofome :
So, it's most likely H1N1 for my oldest DS. His fever spiked to 105 this morning and he has a terrible cough/sore throat. BUT they are NOT giving him Tamiflu - said they are restricted to giving it to those with chronic health conditions or if they are around children under 2 or with chronic health conditions. My poor baby is so sick! I was flipping out when I saw that temp! Weeping

But 3 yo DS seems to be fine today. Not sure if he had the same thing or something else entirely. Ped said the H1N1 vaccine will be pretty much worthless to us now.
Comfort Your poor babies!

Quote from Sharon526 :
Oh my gosh. I am so sorry. I hope he gets better very soon! Comfort

Oh, and I went to two Targets looking for the Visa/Amex cards and I finally asked a GSTL and he said that only 150 test stores were getting them and none of them are in my area Sadwalk

Forgot to mention that I found a new batch of Kleenex b3g1 today at Jewel. It was the smaller size, just like the others and expires 6/30/10! Wow!

Also found some Greenworks B2G1 in the larger size - these were hanging on GW laundry detergent and expire 12/31.
