RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

You can get one at drug store chains like CVS or Walgreen's - don't even need an apointment.

you can get a shot at almost every drug store chain, walmart target Costco
even the grocery stores with pharmacies here give shots
I bet you can find a place that isn't crowded
I know you are right.

You know i thought my daughter gave it to me but it seemed like she left and i got it right away. i think it takes a little longer than that. I had gone to the dr office earlier that week to get my prescription filled and i very well could have gotten it there. i know what you mean.
It is easy to catch something at the doctor's office.

After this flu thing I was thinking of trying one. Do you like it? How long does one last about?
Here's my 2 cents on e-cigarettes:

When looking at which one to try I was overwhelmed by all of the brands and dispirate reviews so I decided to look at it from a business point of view. Who's the big player?
I found that NJoy has 40% of the market and Blu (which is owned by Lorillard - maker of Newport) has 30% - the scores of others only have small slivers of what remains. Right after I found that information I read that the Wells Fargo tobacco analyst called a relatively new product, the NJoy King disposable e-cigarette, "a game changer". Looks like a cigarette, feels like a cigarette, tastes like a cigarette. I went to the store and bought one right then. It costs $8 and you can get about 100 hits from each one (yes, I counted them).

I stopped smoking regular cigarettes the very next day and have not had a single one since. That was almost a month (29 days) ago.
I stopped using the e-cigarette last week.

The e-cig was an extremely helpful tool to stop smoking but it definitely requires mostly absolute determination to quit cigarettes.

Here's the NJoy web site: http://www.njoy.com/

They have an offer on the site to try one for "free" (their version of free is a $2.99 shipping charge).

Here's an article from last week's Time magazine talking about e-cigs and NJoy: http://business.time.com/2013/01/...g-tobacco/

And one from Bloomberg Business: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/201...ation.html

Glad to know that you're feeling better. It will probably drive you a little stir crazy, but remember that "slow and steady wins the race". It's amazing when you find out about all of the little things that you take for granted, that suddenly can't be done yet, even just riding in a car or reaching for something. It will come.
God Bless you and your family.

What kind of nuts did you use? Almonds, walnuts, pecans? This looks like an oatmeal cake that we used to buy at a bakery that was sold to a new owner, who doesn't sell these anymore.

Getting a little nervous about 2013 wins (the lack there of). We, my kids and I, have only won Twix bars and Diet Pepsi so far...what a combo. Smilie
I'm sure it will get better! I, too, wish for good health and wins for everyone.
Just a Twix bar and some cat food here. Last month wasn't that great either. I'll take good health over contest wins too, if that's a choice.

Ok thanks. Got her to eat maybe a level teaspoon and gave her bacon and ham. Not more than a tiny little but better than nothing. then I hear crash and her and the bowl went down to the floor but she got up again.
Great news! hug

We were and still are pretty sick. Sam is still out of work. He did not get the shot. Last week there were maybe 2 days that we had really high fevers, we were delirious and were not able to get up or take care of ourselves. We barely let the dogs out and took turns feeding them. Sometimes we coughed so hard that we could not catch our breath. He said that is how people our age can die from the flu. And I think we dehydrated. I only had the flu one other time in my life and he never had it. I have had pneumonia a few times but this was really bad. We went to the local store today for less than an hour total and both of us came home and slept for hours. All I do is sleep.

So I should stop playing that.
Usually the Dr. will prescribe an inhaler if your breathing gets that bad. I'm asthmatic, so I end up with nebulizer treatments when I've got a bad cough from a cold or flu. If you still have a cough, perhaps you can call the Dr.'s office and ask. Keep drinking fluids, eating soups, etc., and sleeping when your body tells you to sleep. Glad that you're better.hug

you guys need to drink gatorade or other sport drink to replace your electrolytes and rehydrate
Great idea! That does help.

Quote from bornblondeey :
Everything. there was not one part of my body that was not affected. and everything ached. and then when we finally fell asleep one of us started coughing and woke the other one up. And it is scary as you gasp for air.

They are saying that the flu is more likely contracted through breathing it in. It hangs around for a while after someone coughs it out. NOT a comforting thought.

Hoping everyone stays healthy, or gets well without complications.
Good Luck to all!

As soon as I am up to going to the stores, I am going to try that. Thanks so much for all the details.

The starter kit came with 6 cartridges and each cartridge is suppost to equal a pack and a half of cigs.

I wouldn't buy one but it's ok in a pinch if you want a cig and are somewhere you can't smoke.

You've got a lot going on in your life, so it's probably best to take some things slow and easy. There's nothing wrong with being independent.

Recently saw The Hobbit in 3D. I did a little jumping around, too. Love those free movie tickets.

Nice GC. The special wrapping had to make it even more special.

I think I read somewhere that 30% of the people getting the flu had gotten the flu shot.
Thanks Wish!!!
