Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

Madfound out I have to pay 7K (10K with a 3K credit) to my electric co-op to run 1000feet of power lines to my new houseEEK! The way it works here. anything from the pole to the house is the owners responsibility. Have you looked into solar?? Theres a program to install up front and pay payments. The cost of the payments are about what the electric bill would normally be plus you get a tax write off for it. There may be programs to help offset the cost of running the electric. 7K seems alot. Hope with all the snow and ice there that is the price for buried cables!

I was in a Starbucks Coffee recently when my stomach started rumbling and I realized that I desperately needed to fart. We were at the store one time and my son farted next to an old lady. She mustve been half deaf. Whe other people started by us he said "that old lady just farted!!" Everyone looked at her and she looked around and then really fast, pushed her cart to the next isle. He thinks she didnt realize it WASNT her!! laugh out loud

That's odd, most places it's the owners responsibility from POA (point of attachment) inward...weatherhead in for overhead and meter base in for underground..... Elec. co from there out

Not for new install here. Shes out in the boonies. thats the difference. In the city the pole is usually running near the house to begin with. Here if you want a pole its $100 each and a light on the pole is $50 but if you live away from the regular line they charge by the distance

understood, but thats not what I took from your post. Running any utility to new construction when it's a way off from the main line costs $$$. Back in the 70's a friend had a new house built, he wanted natural gas.. gas co wanted $7 k to run the line to him. He waited till someone else further down the road paid to have the main run to their house, then he called to get a gas line off the main to his house.... $500.LMAOLMAO

That works too! If the line is already there they charge less. The 1st so many feet are free and thay charge for the extra distance
